    I just received mine today but it has a small paint chip on the lower left hand corner, by the atenna . Im so dissapointed. Now i can either make appointment and take it to apple store or have them ship me a new phone via fedex but i pay for the phone and i get credit when they receive mine. I have no idea what i should do

    0 for 3 here on black iPhone. First one received on 21st had scratches. Called apple care arranged for swap at nearest apple store on that Sunday.  Arriving at store I was immediately assisted and given their only black 64 G.  It looked much better did not have dent like first one but did have a speck on bezel on top front of phone. I took it as it was better than first phone and was going to live with it. Then I noticed the rattle of the power button. So after seeing my wife's white iPhone arrive in mint condition Monday. I decided to try my luck again on the black one and call apple care. They send me a new one, arrived today in white box. This one was worse than the prior two and also had the rattle to boot.  This one had discoloration on bezel.   I just sent it back today and am going to live with my first replacement. Done dealing with this.

    I received my first replacement today not for the scuff/scratch issue but something else. It arrived in an already opened white box and had scuffs/scratches on it.


    Have the replacements that you have been sent already opened...or are they sealed white boxes?


    I ask becuase I think the one I received was opened because it was already returned by someone else.

    I brought a phone on launch day when it arrived it was all chipped. Used the phone for a week and it scratched terribly. Rang for a replacement, arrived in no time at all however this one had unfinished paint work but seemed much tougher than my last one. I rang apple again explaining I wasn't happy. They refunded me £40 to my original method of payment and said that my 14 day exchange period still remained. So I'm going to see how it goes with this handset if not I may just ask for a full refund and not have the iPhone 5

    I hate to say it, but I'm back.


    I'm on my 3rd iPhone now, and this one has no cosmetic damage whatsoever. So what's the problem you may ask? Well, the speakers are absolute GARBAGE. I never listened to music on them until today, but I had listened to music on my previous two iPhone 5s. The speakers fade in and out of volume for absolutely no reason and louder music, specifically rock and roll stuff sound like pure gainy noise. Your normal song SOOoooOOOoUNNNdddSSSS LiiiIIIkkkEEEE TTTThhhHHHiiiiIIIIiiiiSSSSSS AAAAaaaLLL UUUuuuUPP AAaaAANNDDdDD DDDooOOOoOoOWN.


    This is completely unacceptable. Sprint is refusing to help me and my best chance is getting another refurbished one from Apple.




    I'm so ****** I can't even think straight right now.

    If You received a 40 pound discount would You please post a picture of the receipt. I just got off the phone with Apple Store Sales Support here in US, mostly a complete waste off time considering the Rep I spoke with tried to convince Me that I was part of a 1% minority of customers who received blemished product and that not 1 of those customers she assisted with a replacement received a blemished substitute, problem solved. She solidly refused me any compensation regardless of the phones condition including My willingness to live with it if Apple did the right thing, just continuing too hold the line that Apple Will Not Offer Any Discounts Period and would love to flaunt Your success.

    The speakers on the one i got today are very loud! much louder than my 4S, It just had a paint fade near the battery. Its noticeable. Its not big but its there. I could of gone to apple store but id be embarrased that they would say im making a big deal out of a small little chip. I just went through verizon and decided to order another one and ship this one back. Im praying that i get mine in mint condition but whos to say . Best of luck to everyone. If i get this one in bad shape im taking it to apple. Rather just have them order it from their store.

    Hello- Will Everyone Please Start Photo Documenting Their Issues Since Apple's Claims of 1% Blemished Out Off Box Seems less than Genuine if all of You with multiple replacements are telling the trueth, plus if the Foxconn Sept 6 video is to be believed then 9 out of 10 were failed units and We all received the Cherry Picked crappers.

    I purchased a white iphone 5 64g retail price I wasn't eligible for upgrade and recieved it the aluminum was messes up a black scratch adjacent to the apple logo ran down the middle and a chip in the aluminum and the back also and where the aluminum meets the glass on the back another chip I called apple got a replacement apple was great no chip in the replacement that I noticed yet but there is a black scratch again same area but smaller on the aluminum on the back right by the apple logo how weird and my cousin has one same area same spot so weird

    I also am having the same problems with my Black 64 GB iPhone 5.  Small nick in the bezel and the finish around it starting to wear.  I got my phone 1 week ago exactly, and have had it in a case the whole time.  It's likely that it was there when I received, I didn't check.  I had already bought the case and popped it in there as soon as it was activated.  Anyway, I called Apple yesterday, the first time I had pulled it out of the case and noticed it.  The initial CSR was very nice.  I tried to explain the issue and he said no need to explain, he would send me over to customer service.  They weren't as nice.  They told me that at this point my only recourse was to return my phone for a refund or just deal with it.  Then acted like I was insane that I might actually consider doing it.  Additionally, each of the reps I talked to told me they had never heard of such a problem.  I told them there was a post in their own support forums 37 pages long if they wanted to see it.


    I am a little disappointed to say the least.  But I also don't want to hold onto something that will potentially continue to wear, after paying full retail for it, just doesn't seem right.  This is iPhone #8 in my house, and like most of you I am sure, I have a spent a lot of money on a number of other Apple products.  To be honest, this is my first problem with any of them.  But it doesn't make me feel very confident.


    I already swapped back over to my 4S.  I plan on calling them later today to get the RA and see how that process goes.

    Good Job kbcherry, If Any Company becomes this flippant and disconnected. My CS experience was equally obtuse so I am also off to the the local Apple Hut too return the 5's. Shameful considering its RIP Steve Jobs Day. Best & Be Well, Stu


    p.s. This experience feels kind of like quitting smoking and let me tell You, I am on day 2 and I am already breathing better. I keep reminding myself what doesn't kill us makes us stronger...
