iPhone5 bluetooth not working

Try holding down (power button) on your hands free device for five seconds. Then see if it pairs with your iPhone. Worked for me after trying everything else .

Thanks Jeremy, but the phone pairs up with the bluetooth, it just does not receive calls through the bluetooth. I can call out through the bluetooth as well.

my iphone5 will not pair with my nokia ck7w car kit but my iphone 4 works fine is the iphone 5 not bluetooth backward compatiable and are apple doing anything to fix it

I called Apple support the other day. Went through all the steps they wanted...Including updating to 6.0.2. It still did not work. So, they said they were going to send me a new phone. I was expecting everything to be the same. Low and behold, it actually seems to be working. At least for a few test calls I have recieved. So, we will see. The new phone is still running 6.0.2. I don't know what is different.

Rodneyat. What was your problem before? I looked on this string and couldn't find it. Was it just receiving calls via bluetooth?

I tried the resetting the bluetooth on the iPhone 5 in the accessibility tab for incoming calls to be on "headset" as there was no "handset" option. No change. Still can't receive calls via bluetooth, but can make outgoing calls.

Yes, same as everyone else. I could not receive calls on bluetooth. After picking up a call, I could manually switch it back to bluetooth. The problem existed on my car (2010 Maxima), Headset (Plantronics) and a Garmin Nuvi. Since receiving the new phone, I have not tried it with the plantronics or Garmin yet.

Having the same dramas on my 2010/11 Toyota BT audio system. Just spent about 1/2hour in the car clearing all settings and setting it up for about the 4th time.

A total headache to get it to pair & then BT drops out & back in as audio plays.

Sometimes the phone will answer through the system other times only the handset.

Sometimes the dash controls for pause/play etc work other times not.

Sometimes the system picks the connection up in a couple of seconds other times a minute later I'm still waiting.

iPhone 4 and 4s used the same system with no problems at all. This is all since I switched to iPhone 5.

I've tried clearling all registered handsets etc but still it's flakey.

This looks more & more like an Apple issue.

FIX IT APPLE!!!

I bought a MiniSuit bt keyboard case for my iPhone 5. After I pair for the first time, the phone holds the connection while the keyboard is in use and up to about 30 minutes of inactivity. However, if I turn the keyboard off or after the inactivity threshold, the iPhone cannot repair with the keyboard.

I tested this against my 3rd gen iPad and even turning off and then back on, the iPad automatically reconnects the keyboard case. So it's obviously an iPhone 5 issue with re-connectivity.

This has been an ongoing issue since the iPhone 5's release. Two iOS updates later, it's still not fixed. Hello? Is this mic working, Apple? Fix. Please. Thx!

II've also replaced my iPhone 5 but still have exact same issues. Nothing changed!

Joining the long conga line of disgruntled iPhone 5 users. I have a 2013 Acura RDX with HandsFreeLink. iPhone 4 worked just fine, no issues at all. iPhone 5 is a big fat step backwards. Incoming calls are routed back to the iPhone 5 instead of staying on speaker. Apple, please don't make me go to Android (but I surely will if this isn't fixed soon -- not a negotiable feature). I hope that guy Apple fired for screwing up the IPhone didn't get severance.

Try and delete the Acura from your phone, then go to your car setup and delete all phones from the car( very important) repair. That worked for me on my 2009 TL.

Got a new Bluetooth headset for Christmas - LG Tone. Pairs fine with my iPad 3, but cannot get it paired with my iPhone 5. I'm assuming its the same issue everyone is having. Ugh, frustrating!! They better fix this soon!! Good news is it still pairs with Ford Sync, but I want my new headset to work!

Look at the instructions for the Bluetooth headset and reset so that there are no pairings, a hard reset to delete any pairings. Then repeat the steps for pairing. For a Motorola headset, I had to hold down the button on the headset during the pairing process. I also have an iPad retina (newest one) and it paired without any special gyrations
