Similar problems here. 2012 Honda CRV, paired no problem with my iPhone 4. iPhone 5 won't pair. It also won't pair with my Polar heart rate monitor, which works fine with my iPad 3, both with iOS 5 and iOS 6. My iPhone 5 won't even pair with my Macbook Air.

It really seems like the issue here is with the iPhone, given the range of pairing failures people are having. It would be miraculous if the iPhone is fine, but on September 21, 2012, a huge range of devices that worked fine suddenly became Bluetooth 4.0 non-compliant.

And it will be extremely disappointing if the suggested solution is to try to upgrade firmware in all the devices which won't pair, as opposed to a fix in the next iOS 6 release.

I'm having the same problems. I have a Logitech Bluetooth speaker system that worked perfectly with my iPhone 4. I upgraded to the iPhone 5 yesterdat & nothing I try to connect to by Bluetooth works. I don't think it's an IOS 6 issue because things were working fine Thursday night (& I had updated to 6 Wednesday). Things only stopped working with the new iPhone.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is an update coming from Apple???

Alright, so I blew my fuse and got frustrated just like everyone else this morning. I get in my car try to pair the new shiny iphone 5 ... and NOTHING? w . t . f. CMON APPLE.

Anyway, I read all your post but there was no solution. I did try resetting my head unit completely so that it would pair, still nothing.

HERE's MY SOLUTION.

1.) Look up the device you're trying to pair to manual.

2.) Goto the bluetooth section and figure out how to make it "Pair"

* I know we all think our devices are in "pairing mode" - this is because it worked for every other iphone or device you ever tried. You're just not used to doing it this way.

3.) Put your device (head unit) into "pairing mode"

4.) Turn on iPhone 5 bluetooth.

5.) Smile because your device shows up.

This worked for me, I hope it works for you. Just simply having the bluetooth on and having the iPhone "find it" is not enough.

I connected to my Sony BTX-300 Head Unit.

I put it in pairing mode by "holding the bluetooth button", which then made the bluetooth display flash as opposed to just being lit.

Hope this helps, one problem solved.

Now if I could just get my screen protector on perfect I wouldn't be so irritated, lol.

I posted earlier about having issues discovering my Bose Bluetooth. I dug out my Bose headset manual and checked out the troubleshooting section. It suggested that you hold down the call button on the Bose headset for 5 seconds if it was not being discovered automatically. Presto, that worked! Perhaps the other headset devices have a similar workaround? Best of luck to you all...

I finally got my iPhone 5 to connect to my Kenwood DNX6190HD, way longer process than on my 4, but now it only streams audio and does not recognize any of the play/pause/next/back commands from the reciever as well it does not show song metadata anymore. My 4 on iOS 5 did this no problem. Any ideas on that one? Its a 2011 Mazda 3 incase that matters.

It’s not like we are working with Samsun here. They should have thought it out fixed all the bugs then went ahead. I am...... ******! My 3 week old Volkswagen Tiguan no longer plays my MUSIC nor my Audible. Its so not ok. This is a breach of contract. I am told by apple you don’t have to update but my carrier said just the opposite our phones will not work without the updates...
