iPhone5 bluetooth not working

its a disaster.... really unexpected...from APPLE

thats really a disaster....my I phone 5 doesn't show devices like nokia blackberry or samsung at all... does that mean, that apple has made phone that is not compatible with for god sake with aaaaalllllll other devices in the world??? unbelievble

I found the issue. Software glitch. 100%. You must save your information back up phone. Now erase all settings.

Let phone begin as new. Use back up you just save phone will work 100%. Bluetooth will now work on any bluetooth enabled device.

Please back up your phone information you will need it later.

1. Go to settings

2. Go to general

3. Go to reset

Erase All Content and Settings

Phone will reboot

Phone will act like a new activation. Set up as phone

use back up and now phone will work 100%

Iphone 5 will work with any bluetooth device

I did this a couple of times...It did not work

I understand for some, a reboot may work, but not for all including me.

With my iPhone 4S with ios6, I had these these issues with my Bluetooth connections. When I bought a new iPhone 5 I thought it would be fine. Same issues. My point to mfudesi is, I went through the reset when the phone was new. What has changed to make it work now? I really hate to go through the reset stuff and still have the same problem. I have just accepted it and moved on, hoping Apple will take are of it. Not yet.

If you do this all APP data will be lost. That is any game progress, user Id and passwords, etc. The backup only backs up the ios, and ios settings.

So basicly you are saying that when you buy the apple iphone5 you first have to reset it because bluetooth is not working correctly from the beginning ?
Well that is a good start for a new phone , this means that all these people in this post have been looking to what the problem is and only to find out that it is a 50/50 change on the reset of a phone that it might be solved .

It is sad to hear this . that apple lets the new owner of there product wonder for a while on what the problem is and not letting it know through contacting there consumer on the issue .
It is also sad that eventhough this thread is being supported by the community , that they do not have the right to give a news letter or support problem automated mail to all those who aquired a iphone .

I am sad myself that i was under the impression that my headphone was outdated and would not been able to work on the new iphone .
I gave therefor my headphone to my sister who i also sold my iphone4 to with all the extra perks i bought over the years , like a clock docking station some tips of apps i picked up over the years and now also the nokia headphone bluetooth system .

I am still happy i gave here the things as she is my sister and i felt i give here more then the money she gave me back for the purchase ( btw i used the money to buy the new iphone )
Sadly for me this iphone might going to be my last Sphone i am going to buy for a while .
Because i am seing that now iphones are also starting to show the same outsourced quality as to other products that i have stopped buying over the years .

I, too, have found that Apple's quality is starting to slip. My iPhone 5 misbehaves a bit too frequently, requiring it to be powered off and on perhaps once a day, which is too much. But I digress...

Re Bluetooth, it is an OS 6 issue, not a hardware issue. I'm in the New York area, and during Hurricane Sandy my girlfriend used my Land Rover LR3 extensively due to the offroading needed to get past downed trees. She has a 4S/iOS 6 and she had to manually pair to the LR3 each time she used the vehicle. But me with my iPhone 4/iOS 5 had no issues with the vehicle, since I didn't upgrade to the new OS due to MapGate. Of course, with the new iPhone 5/iOS 6, it has never worked, either.

My current thinking is that it has something to do with devices that requrie a PIN to pair. With my Plantronics Bluetooth headset, it pairs whenever the Plantronics is powered up. With my Bose SoundLink, it pairs whenever the Bose is powered up. But power up the LR3, which requires a PIN to be remembered by the iPhone, it won't pair automatically.

APPLE, PLEASE ADD THE AUTOMATIC PAIRING/PIN MEMORY FEATURE BACK TO OS 6. It is a royal pain to open the vehicle, get in, buckle up, then fiddle with the phone for 20 seconds (settings/bluetooth/select device/enter pin/pair) rather than set and forget this.

Oh, it occurs to me that Ford's SYNC system pairs OK with iOS 6 phones because it doesn't need a PIN. My GF needed my truck because she has a Mustang with SYNC, which works fine with her phone. And when the truck was in for service, I had a Ford Explorer with SYNC that grabbed my phone fine, requiring no PIN to be entered.

APPLE, WHY DOESN'T THE iOS 6 REMEMBER BLUETOOTH PINs?

My car requires a pin. And it remembers it every time. Have you read all the posts in this thread?

My iPhone 5 pairs too. I get the message that the phone is connected when I turn on the car. It just won't accept calls when they come in. I answer the phone on the car (2012 Honda CRV) and nothing happens. Next, even though It is dangerous when driving, I have to pick up the phone, hit audio selection, then speaker, then hands-free on the phone. It worked fine on the iPhone 4S.

Hey Apple! That's sort of like texting while driving and pretty much as dangerous. You are going to kill someone.
