iPhone5 bluetooth not working

I heard the same thing....2 years ago. Get on it Apple!

The IPhone 3's and 4's had no problems syncing with their car Bluetooths did they?

Isn't it just the 5? Hasn't it only been around since September 2012?

No I've had a 3GS that then was upgrade to the OIS and now have a 5. None of them have connected incoming calls with my Bluetooth. I have looked for an answer ever since. Moore than 2 years now.I borrowed a google android and it worked fine.

As soon as I got my iphone 5 in October, I noticed that my Jaybird sportsband bluetooth headset didn't work. I thought maybe it was just the headset. I just bought a new bluetooth earpiece for making calls only, and it doesn't work, either.

No, those devices' makers screwed up.

There are a huge number of BT devices that worked just fine with older versions of iOS and continue to do so with iOS 6 and beyond.

The issue at hand, in general, is not with iOS 6. It is with Apple's implementation of BT on the iPhone 5. That tends to be where the problem is..not with iOS6 on other iPhones.

That's why I said "in general". It does definitely work in some cases...but also does not work in a lot of others.

I would say it works in by far the majority of cases and does not work in a minority of cases. In the case of Nissan's I would say it is a problem Nissan has with their implementation of BT.

Well my iPhone 4S worked great with my Honda CRV and my iPhone 5 won't receive calls using bluetooth and my Honda CRV. Nothing changed on the Honda. What did they screw up on the iPhone 5???

Yes it is the iPhone 5 that won't synch with cars that worked great with the iPhone 4.

Nothing, but it has a newer chipset for BT 4.0 EDR. If Honda is using the same BT system in their cars as Nissan then they may have the same problem.

Have you tried 6.1?

Sorry, I thought I posted this in this thread already. Bruce2125 posted a solution that works in my 2013 CR-V RES. There is one setting on the phone that needs changed. Once that is done, the phone takes calls normally. Also, people are reporting a lot of issues are resolved by the iOS 6.1 update released this morning.

Bruce2125: I have discovered a workaround for the issue which may be of use to other IOS6/iPhone5 users.

I found that by going to Preferences/General/Accessibility/Physical and Motor/Incoming Calls and changing it from Default to Headset forces the iPhone to use the 'Headset' if one is available for incoming calls. As the bluetooth speaker on the handsfree is effectively a 'Headset' incoming calls are directed to the bluetooth speaker. When the phone is out of the car and the handsfree disconnects itself the phone behaves normally.
