Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
New out of the box iPhone 5 16GB worked for an hour or so and ever since says No SIM installed. I've rebooted, Reset Network settings, ejected the tray and nothing works.
Anyone else having this issue?
Yes, for a while restarting helped, but now I can't even get rid of the message that way. I can't make any calls. Help!?
My iphone was having the same issue, you could see the residue on the back of the sim card. Good ol eraser trick worked well for me. thanks

I had my Sprint Iphone5 for a month now n yesterday was the first time it had the "No Sim" message. This morning it happened again. Is there any fixes? Not just rebooting, permanent fixes?
Obviously its an Apple issue as all carriers are having the same issue. I'd rather just get a new one then having to pop the sim in n out from time to time. Each time this happens, meaning another problem on my iphone5, i begin to miss my 4S more n more. I personally regret jumping to the 5 n consider the 4S Apples best work.
I had the same issue, no sim card message. We could see residue on the sim card almost like a finger print, I ended up cleaning it with a pencil eraser so it was nice and clean and haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps someone.
Sprint didn't blink an eye when I called about the no sim message, they are sending me a new one post haste, of course I have to send back the bad new one! Resetting didn't work.
