My iPhone 5 will not turn on

My iPhone 5 was working perfectly yesterday. Then I wake up this morning and it is completely dead. I have tried to charge it. I have tired plugging it into iTunes. But it will not come on. It was fully charged last night. Nothing happened to it over night and the only thing I have done with it is sync it to itunes and send some tweets and texts since I got it.

What can I do?!?!

PLEASE HELP?!?!

Just happened to me, exactly as you described and I was panicking! Just tried a hard restart (hold down centre button and lock button) and it's come back on. Phew!!

My iphone 5 has also just shut down while it had 75% battery power. No amount of resets, hard or soft, work. The phone is dead. Despite all the posts above there has only been one reply from Apple and that didn't solve the problem for any of the people that a hard reset didn't work. DFU mode is not an option for us as well, as the phone will not power up at all regardless of whether it is being charged, plugged in or any othet solutions offered by cutomers. My phone is 13 months old and is as dead as doornail. Apple?????????????????????????

CAUSE & SOLUTION: I just had the same problem for the first time with my iPhone 5s. Did the hard reset, held for longer than you think necessary and it worked.

This happened with my iPad mini some time ago and I called Apple Care and was told it happened because I had too many apps opened. So once my phone started up, I closed all my apps. I couldn't believe how many I had opened.

Maybe this is the same reason for the phone shutting down. Turning off the phone doesn't close the apps. You have to do it manually - each one.

My iPhone 5S will shut off even when the battery level is fairly high...all of a sudden just stops and goes black. It comes back when recharged. However recharging is hard too. Sometimes it takes the charge and sometimes it doesn't. Always walk around with my charger and cord attached. This is crazy. I have tried everything but still happens.
