iMessage Activation on iOS 6 in UAE - not working anymore

I have a Canadian iPhone 4S and live in the UAE. After the iOS 6 update it is not possible to activate iMessage (stuck with "Waiting for activation...")! It was working fine before on iOS 5. Also I can't login with my UAE Apple ID for additional "Send & Receive" email addresses (Apple IDs from other countries are working).

I tried all work-arounds described in serveral forums. The only thing what I didn't try is switching my UAE Apple ID to another country as described by other users before. When I try to do it I'm getting an iTunes 5002 error and it doesn't let me switch the ID to another country.

Now I am using temporarly my old Canadian Apple ID for iMessage. At least I can send some iMessages with my old Apple email address. But the activation for my phone number is also here not working.

I have a strange feeling that +971 are blocked for iMessage activation on iOS 6...

Would be great to read some more user experiences about iMessage activation on iOS 6 in UAE!

etisalat user here.... just now my imessage is no longer working on my iphone and ipad!!! it just says "waiting for activation" for my iphone and on my ipad it says network connection problem!! used wifi and 3g but to no avail.

Apple please fix this! last month Facetime no longer works for me after updating to ios6 and now immesage???

Help! I have an iPod generation 4 I think (not the colorful ones) IMessage isn't working and taking FOREVER!! I receive some messages though!! What do I do???

well guys dont fret, seems my pc refuses to accept the ITunes interface programe thus rendering my Ipod Touch incapable of backing up anything bought via itunes, this in turn has meant i have been unable to update to IOS6

However i have 2 accounts one is an American Account the other a New Zealand Account and switching accounts in IOS5 also will bugger up the I Message application, any attempt to fix this situation will have Apple directing you to their award winning website where billions of ****** off users flounder around in abject misery, unable to find anything usefull...

The Device itself is Awesome, i could not ask for more....

Apple's service department needs to have alquieda bomb them so that their boss can go and hire some fresh new comedians to replace them.
