iOS 6 disaster. Facetime and imessage not working. sync problems

Hi all.


I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced so many bugs with iOS6?


Upgraded to an ipad 3 32GB wifi . Gave my dad ipad 2(restored and logged in with his apple id).


All was well. Then iOS 6 came along


I am able to log into my apple id but everytime i try to sign into facetime it says username or password is incorrect.

it worked a couple times but then stopped working again.

I am positive the password is correct.

I reset the password and am using the new one.

It is correct.


Restored the ipad.

worked for a while.. then the same thing

now i can't sync, Am getting an error message . Currently restoring the ipad again.


I am able to purchase items on itunes still on my desktop and my apple id seems to be working otherwise.

Facetime and imessage is not 😟


please help?


anyone else experienced similiar issues with iOS6 ?


It should be mentioned that i couldn't purchase items directly from my ipad with the appstore for a period of time but it worked when i purchased through itunes on my desktop


Are these bugs associated with iOS6?

Again any help will be greatly appreciated

What I did before the description I gave, I restored my iPad to its factory condition by connecting it to iTunes and I created a new Apple ID. I initially put in my actual location (Cyprus) and facetime worked and signed me in. When I closed it and opened it again it asked me for a password. I typed the correct password several times but I could not connect again. Then I did what I explained before and logged in immediately. You can try that as well if you don't mind changing over to another Apple ID. I did not mind because it was my first Apple device so it was a new account.

Finally & after many trials!! I gave up on that Apple ID & took your advice by making a new Apple ID, I tapped on make a new Apple ID >> put a different email address >> & a password >> then it gave me the Veryfying message ............... > TADA! it logged me in ! now under FaceTime settings my phone number is checked on & my new apple ID email too. when they asked me for my region I chose UK . I don't know if I changed it to Egypt again will it get disabled again ?

Do I have to switch my app store ID to the new one as well ?


Anyways I'm glad at least that it did sign me in. I haven't tested it & called someone yet.

I had a similar issue :


To resolve this i went to generals: App store and clicked on my apple id. when a pop up shows click on view Applie id account. There select the payment process and select NONE in the type of card instead of your visa or mastercard. save it and then you can try getting into facetime., It should be good. It worked for me. Good luck. Lemme know how it goes
