iOS 6 disaster. Facetime and imessage not working. sync problems

Hi all.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced so many bugs with iOS6?

Upgraded to an ipad 3 32GB wifi . Gave my dad ipad 2(restored and logged in with his apple id).

All was well. Then iOS 6 came along

I am able to log into my apple id but everytime i try to sign into facetime it says username or password is incorrect.

it worked a couple times but then stopped working again.

I am positive the password is correct.

I reset the password and am using the new one.

It is correct.

Restored the ipad.

worked for a while.. then the same thing

now i can't sync, Am getting an error message . Currently restoring the ipad again.

I am able to purchase items on itunes still on my desktop and my apple id seems to be working otherwise.

Facetime and imessage is not 😟

please help?

anyone else experienced similiar issues with iOS6 ?

It should be mentioned that i couldn't purchase items directly from my ipad with the appstore for a period of time but it worked when i purchased through itunes on my desktop

Are these bugs associated with iOS6?

Again any help will be greatly appreciated

I'm having the same problem with Facetime on my iPad 2.

I reset the password and all settings but Facetime is rejecting my password even though it's correct.

Can anyone help?

Update:

The sync issues is gone. Restarted my computer, switched usb ports and restarted ipad(after restoring like 10 times with different backups) . Restarting desktop seemed to do the trick. Still can't log into facetime or imessage however.

Are you running iOS 6 EvaKks?

My password is correct.

How do you contact apple?

I am not in the US 😟

any help will again be greatly appreciated

Yes, upgraded ti iOS and that's when the problesm started...only with Facetime however.

My iMessage is working fine.

try resetting your password:

www.appleid.apple.com

See if that works....

Just got this to work for Facetime (after many attempts):

Settings->Facetime-> Create New ID

and log in with that

I am having the same issue with my ipad2 since I updated to ios6. I have tried resetting password, even changed user name, nothing has helped. If anyone has a permanent solution, I would love to hear it.

I have tried resetting/changing my password (several times). I have tried resetting my iphone, and i've even tried restoring the iphone (from itunes). Nothing helps!

Yep. Same issue. Sadly, I don't think we're getting a fix soon. I posted the issue here. That link has been retweeted by Jim Dalrymple and Jon Mitchell. Hundreds have tried; none have succeeded.

After scouring forums across the web, I'm still open to trying anything new, so don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks in advance.

(NOTE: Works on my Mac and iPad (iOS 5.1.1) - just not my iPhone (iOS 6))

Temporary fix. I just created an alternative id for FaceTime and iMessage. Not ideal but it works for now. I'm still able to use my old Id for the iTunes Store and everything else. And for FaceTime and iMessage I'm permanently logged in to my other Id. Think they will fix this issue in the next release?

I have the exact same problem!! it's been driving me crazy!! I have iPhone 4 but my iMessage works fine however.

Just the FaceTime doesn't work at all, my phone number is registered ,

just when I try to add my email (apple ID) to make the facetime works & activate .. I write down my email & password correctly , it says password is incorrect! =(((

I changed my password, I tried resetting the settings and turning on & off the phone and all. Nothing Works!!

this is one of MANY bugs I have after I updated (& made the most terrible mistake of my life) to iOS 6 !!

Apps are crashing & force closing including their new app store. Youtube application is vey slow. Maps aren't accurate not even half the quality of google maps. Screen freezes sometimes =((

I'm very disaapointed at Apple seriously!! this could be their one mistake that will drop down their whole legendary iPhone into the sewer!

Goddddd itsss the sme thing for me..... I cnt login to my imessage n face time... Ty tel i hve entered the wrong id or the password... I hve tried to chnge my password, reset my ipad, did ever possible thing.... But nutin seems to work...

N whn i tryin to create a new apple id... It says..u cnt create one nw!!!!

Thn whn i create one??? How frustrating it s .....

Sumone plzzzz post sum thing very sooon ... To permentaly soveths prob!

I live in Iceland and I change my region to UK, logged me in to facetime and iMessage and then changed my region back to Iceland...

I'm afraid that didn't work for me. I have an active Itunes Match subscription and when i tried that i got a message saying that i had to cancel it before proceeding.

It won't let me pass that 😟

markali88 I found the solution. Follow it and you will solve your problem.

1) Go here: http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/manage/

2) Click on Sign in to manage your Apple ID

3) Click on Manage your Apple ID

4) Type in your Apple ID and Password and click Sign in

5) Select Addresses from the left hand side

6) Click Edit

7) In country region type United Kingdom

8) Click Save at the bottom of the page

9) Go to your Apple Device Settings - General - International - Region Format - Select United Kingdom

10) Press the Home button

11) Log into Facetime and iMessage with your CORRECT APPLE ID AND PASSWORD

This should work for all of you guys. Hope it helps.
