iTunes no longer supported on PPC MACS!!

This can't be right?? Apple is leaving all it's long time supporters using PPC macs out in the cold for future updates to iTunes? But they are still supporting Windows XP and up?? Please tell me this is just an oversight and a fix is coming. For those of you wondering about why iTunes will not update on your MAC, if you don't have a Intel machine, you are out of luck it seems.

Thanks for the response. I will try the download, though I believe it is aleready installed.

My iPod Touch updates through iCloud but can no longer sync with my G5 due to iTunes. The bigger issue is that iOS6 does not support my original iPad! So it is a sudden double whammy from Apple dropping support for my iTunes and my 3 year old iPad. Makes me reconsider waiting for the new iMacs to come out in favor of a Windows machnie. iTunes still supports Windows XP and up!

Dosn't support the original iPad?

My mom had that problem but we went through it all and updated to ios 5 without any real problems. You do need to have the ipad connected to the computer to get the update for vsn 5

But it worked on her original iPad. There were some scary messages about it not being backed up and stuff for many of her apps. My theory is those apps weren't recognized by the older ios she was running.

Are you seeing this in the system requirements for ios 5?

iPad 2 and iPad New are the only iPads that support iOS6.

Attempts to update iTunes on a PPC to allow syncing with iOS6 is not possible.

This all happened with the release of iPhone 5.

Use of iTunes 10.6 still works with the original iPad, but no new updates to iTunes or the iOS5.

Check out the iOS6 page on the Apple website. Look at the bottom of the page. Only iPad2 and iPad new are show for this iOS.
