Home sharing not showing all songs and albums

Having a bit of an issue with home sharing and it's driving me nuts as I just can't seem to solve it.

I enabled home sharing today as my mrs wanted to listen to music on our iPad while she was cooking.

Now here comes the issue, all songs in the iTunes library are showing under the songs tab of the music app but nothing will show under the artist or album section so I don't get any album artwork etc. How ever on my iPhone they show up under albums and artists tab.

The only way to play a song would be to look through the entire library where I'd rather just select the album.

Does anybody have any idea why this is doing it?

Some basic info on my setup.

Ipad 2 running ios6 and latest iTunes installed on a pc.

Pc is hardwired into a wireless router.

All music is stored on my NAS.

Hi users

I have recently purchased a Apple TV and apple ipad mini. I have turned on home sharing, connected everything, how ever when i go to Computers on Apple TV it keeps saying "turn on home sharing" "to access your itunes library on Apple TV turn on home sharing in itunes on your computer using (Apple ID login)"

I have done this but can not access my ipda through the computer section.

What am i doing wrong?? I am a newbie to this

thanks

You can not set up Home Sharing between and Ipad and an Apple TV.

Homesharing works from a PC/Mac runing Itunes and allows other devices ie Apple Tv, Ipad, Other Mac/P to access the original Itunes Library.

With an ATV and Ipad only all you can do is stream things from your IPad to the TV via Airplay, or watch whats available on the ATV

If you do have a PC/Mac set up Itunes and login to your account.

From there you need to set up home shareing which will then allow the other divices to see the account.

Obviously this will be over WIFI so you will need your router setup properly, alternatively you can hardwire your network but will still need wifi for the Ipad to connect.

The main issue being discussed on this thread is that when properly setup there is an intermitent fault which causes some Albums/Films not to show on the ipad or Atv, or in some cases the items show but the artwork that goes with the item is incorrect. In all cases the original Itunes library shows all the files and the correct artwork.

Its either an issue with Itunes itself or the software on the Ipad/Atv that is causing the mix up and there has been intermitant success in resolving, but its usually short lived and the fault comes back. The bigger the library the more the fault seems to materialise.

The other regular fault is that the Atv/Ipad looses the shared connection and you have to reset everything.

Glad to say this fixed my problem and it makes sense as well. I'm surprised Apple haven't fixed it over such a long period but there you go. Anyway I followed the instructions, removed home sharing on all devices then re-started it and lo and behold the newly catalogued albums appeared. Now my wife can play her flaming Christmas tunes on the iPad
