iPhone 5 Charging Issues

Hello!

Has anyone experienced any problems charging the iPhone 5. When I hook up my iPhone 5 to the charger included with the packaging, or to my MacBook Pro, it charges. However, if I move it slightly or position it differently, it stops charging and I hear the disconect sound. I have to reconnect the conecter to the phone for it to resume charging. I have found that it charges without a problem if held, but if laid on a desk it easily disconects.

Perhaps this is an issue with the cable its self, maybe mine is faulty, and not the phone.

Has anyone experiecned an issue similar to mine?

Thank You!

I have been experiencing the same thing ever since I got my iphone5.

At first, I blamed the cable being faulty and got a second cable without making a big deal about spending $25 on the new cable.

But I am experiencing the same exact thing again with the new cable. If I plug the connector cable to the USB port in my macbookpro, it beeps and tells me it is charging. If I touch the cable ever so lightly, it will likely make another beep telling me it's not charging any more. If I touch the cable again 50-50 chance it will beep and tell me it's charging again. And this can go on forever.

Here's one my daily scenario: I will leave the iphone5 charging assuming that when I come back I will have a fully charged phone, but typically I will end up with less charge than when I left it. I don't know if the problem is the "USB" or "lighting" side of the connector or the cable, but there is definitely some problem with this connection system.

Please post something if you have come accross some solution or recommendation for dealing with this annoying issue!

I wonder if Apple will come up with a permanent solution for this.

I want to add that I also get this annoying message: "Charging is not supported with this accessory" ....

The device is the lighting cable and connector provided by Apple. What's UP?????

This last item is worth someone take not too. What in the world does that mean when the same brand device is telling you that they're not compatible.. More UAT needed here.. :-(

In my case, the charging problem was caused by a case I purchased. The bottom of the case obstructed the cable from connecting all the way. I emailed the manufacturer and they sent me an updated case. The iPhone cable now charges without a problem and the charger is not loose or sensitive any more. Before this I actually went to the apple store and got a replacement, the problem still persisted. When I got the new case, the problem went away. So, check the bottom of your case (if you have one). I know that my friend had the same problem with the same case I go and none of my other friends who have iPhone 5's have experienced this problem at all.

I hope this helps.

As for the iPhone accessory not supported, sometimes that pops up for me, it's a big. Just unplug and replug and it should work.
