can I trade my current RAM memory?
I want to upgrade my memory, can I trade it to a higher gigabyte?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Buy new from macsales.com or crucial.com, and they may (depending on the age) buy your old RAM.
I upgraded RAM and kept my old RAM because there may be a time I am unsure about the condition of the new RAM and will need a fallback position.
thank you steve359
No problem.
Both of those sites will guide you to the RAM that matches your system. And you may find that the RAM they try to sell you is more than Apple says you can put in. That is just Apple quoting the RAM modules that were available/reasonably-priced when the system was first being tested -- being "conservative" in short.
