My iPhone 5 speaker does not work properly.

My iPhone 5 16GB AT&T has problems with its speaker...when I'm playing music at full volume, at certain times in my music the volume fluctuates, going lower for a second and then returning to normal volume...there are also distortions in the actual music at different points. Does anyone else experience this issue? I know it's not a problem with the song itself because I've listened to it through both the built-in speaker and the fantastic EarPods, and I do not have any sound issues through the headphones.

I restored my phone to factory settings then downloaded a track that I'd heard the fluctuation on without restoring the phone from a backup. I wanted to make sure there wasn't a problem with the backup. The volume fluctuated or "ducked" in and out just as before.

I went in to an Apple store to get a new iphone thinking that it must be a hardware problem, they restored it to factory settings then uploaded a song from a CD. There was no fluctuation.

Then we tried downloading the same track as before on a different iphone 5. The fluctuation was there!

So this is most definately a software problem that is only affected by certain tracks.

I hope someone from apple sees this thread and does something to fix it.

Now I just need to figure out why my phone won't accept a backup from itunes..

UGH!

I had every iPhone since it came out. I still have my iPad and apple TV. But this iPhone is just buggy in some areas. I went from my iPhone4 to this . Granted, love how speedy was and the larger screen. But not goof enough for me. The volume bug was too much. I did an exchange for another cell (not iPhone). And i am happy now. Really hope apple can address these problems for people with their iPhone 5. If u r really unhappy with the quality with the new iphone, go back to the iPhone 4 or get another brand. I could not go back to the old iPhone 4 cause I got used to the larger screen and faster speed.

I am also haveing speaker problems. I have a black 64GB wifi model. I hear nothing at all when on YouTube. I hear nothing on a phone call when in speaker mode.

I went into voice mail and could NOT hear anything in speaker mode however when I turned off speaker I could hear voice message and phone calls

I created a short video and played it back, no sound. I uploaded to YouTube and it played fine on my PC.

I then plugged my earbuds into the phone and I could hear everything.

I assume for this testing it has to do with Speaker mode, any ideas on how to correct it?

thanks,

Had my phone a week thought I was going mad at first, glad to know I'm not the only one I've got iPhone 5 16gb black fluctuates, dips on music from speaker at full volume I've played exactly the same song on my old iPhone 3G and it was fine on loud speaker so 100% a fault with the iPhone 5 seems to be fine with headphones though and to be honest I did think it might be a safety feature to protect the speaker although no other apple device I've owned did this. Think apple need to comment on this as I payed cash outright for this and waited 8 weeks to buy and already problems.

So could the speaker sound flactuations be present on all iPhone 5s (hardware or/and software wise)? I've just exchanged my 1st iPhone 5 because of this problem and yet, the 2nd iPhone 5 has the same problem. I've also noticed that the problem arises mainly when the song itself has different loudness (beat and vocal wise)?

Thank you very much for your help in advance.
