    Dears,

     

    Please help me. I'm from Azerbaijan Baku, i have problem with Imessage and Facetime. So when i login from my Ipad 2, Iphone 4 and Iphone 5 my apple id, i recieved this natification.

     

    "The use name or password for xxx@gmail.com was incorrect. Try Again"

     

    Please help me.

    Apple knows it is an IOS 6 issue. yet, they dont want to comment. i guess they will fix it whenever IOS 6.1 or IOS 7 comes out. meanwhile, your only solution is to creat a new dummy account for facetime. i have tried calling and emailing every level of Apple support and was told that they dont know what happend and told me they were helpless.

    I tried restoring my iPad and then use the back up from iCloud and that worked just fine, I have my old settings back where these services where online and working.

    And finally

    I found the solution

     

    Go to setting

    iTunes & apps stores

    Then press youe apple ID

    then .. View apple ID

    Then .... Change your country to QATAR

    then save changes

    NOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACTIVATE I MESSAGE AND FACE-TIME SERVICES BY YOU TELEPHONE NUMBER AND YOUR APPLE ID

    Good catch, however, if you still have credit in your account through iTunes card then you can not change countries. Also, whenever you want to download news apps it will switch to the original country of your credit card. But good catch none the less.

    Nope didn't work here in UAE.  This is sporadic as my own Iphone, ipad and imac activate normally but my wife whose set up identically keeps getting the same " The user name or password for ...... was incorrect. Try again"  This is clearly a problem with the apple server side of things.

    The 100 dollar question is why is this happening with IOS 6 only?  Try downgrading to 5.1.1.

    After suffering for nearly 2 weeks after I upgraded...it works fine with your steps.  I am in UAE and had the problem with my iphone 4s and ipad mini...  however, mac worked fine..!!

    I have the same problem, but eventually I could solve it. Turning on and off iMessage or Facetime never works unless you find out the root cause. Follow the following steps:

     

    1- First is to make sure your settings for iMessage and Facetime is correct

    - Your phone number is correct in "My number" (Settings>Phone). Double check it in your iTunes

    - Time zone is correct (Settings>General>Date & Time).

    - Regional format is your country (Settings>General>International)

    - Wifi is on for Facetime; Wifi or 3G is on for iMessage

     

    2- If you cannot activate iMessage or Facetime after doing the above settings, 99% the root cause is your SIM. Micro SIM of iphone is very sensitive, I mean, if the SIM does not fit the tray completely, it will cause activation error to such functions as iMessage or Facetime even though calling and receiving functions are still work normally. What you need to do is simply change your SIM (it costs less than one dollar in my country) or check the fitness of your SIM on the tray. Power off and on your iphone and activate iMessage and Facetime. It takes about one minute for a successful activation.

    If you doubt of it (your SIM is the cause), borrow your friend's SIM and test it on your iphone

    I was all the day from Bolivia with the problem , and I do that, and mi facetime and imeesage now are good!

     

    I enter to itunes change my country and I tried again to enter with my apple id to facetime un my ipad with retina display and now is working fine...
