iPhone 5 USB stuck

I would of thought USB would be a set standard in size and design. I hope Apple get a fix for this and replace faulty leads.

same thing happened to me yesterday,had to resort to using pliers,called apple today,they have agreed to send out a new cable. but just in case i was thinking of keeping the faulty cable and not returning it to apple, they insisted on taking my credit card details.???? so not impressed with apple on that front at all,

so is this normal company procedure ?

I just took delivery of my new 5 and i have the same problem. Its stuck in the side of my iMac keyboard. Im going to have to take the whole keyboard to the Apple Store!

I thought it was just me! After restoring my data from my backup to my iPhone 5 from my MacBook, I had a heck of a time trying to get the USB connector out. I was scared to pull on the cable, so I tried to wiggle the connector out to loosen it, but I did need to pull the cable a bit. Once it was a little bit out, I was able to wiggle it the rest of the way out. I decided any future syncs would have to be wifi only! I've never seen such a tight-fitting USB cable!

Same thing is happening with mine. I had to end up pulling it out on my own with pliers.

Same here. I have just plugged my charger into my laptop and can't get it out.

This is disgraceful.

I thought it was just me being a wimp as I couldn't (and still can't) get my cable out of my laptops USB port. I will be winging my way down to apple very soon to get them to sort this out as it is crazy that such a basic bit of kit doesnt perform as it should do. I'm not gonna really force it as i don't wanna damage my laptop.

Ok, thought it was me. For the first time today I plugged my phone into my laptop, been using the plug in charger. Got up to leave for the day and usb cord is stuck. Had to bring my laptop from work home with me to charge my phone. Wow.

Mine too was tighter than normal. It is amazing what even a couple of millimeters difference can make. Everytime I go to remove it, I worry about damaging my computer USB port.

Ok, I was able to get it out without damaging cable. I unplugged the laptop and took out the battery. Turn the laptop on it's side and moved the USB from side to side. This loosens it and comes right out. Won't be plugging that back in anytime soon. I will still call Apple in the am to complain.

Me too! On the phone with Apple now, we'll see what they do and I will update thread. Transferring me to a supervisor, already saying it's because I plugged into a 3rd party product? Hopefully our conversation doesn't end like that... that would mean anything but a mac and a mac charger are the only things "compatible" Mine is stuck in a $20 bullet car charger from the Sprint store, if it was my laptop I would be super mad. I did plug into my desktop without issue. Haven't tried my latop yet and don't plan on it.

Issue somewhat resolved. Spoke with supervisor (Josh) he's documenting/researching the issue but in the meantime sending me a cable. I will not use on anything but my desktop and the cube apple charger since I know it works on those and I'll keep an eye on this to see how it develops. Thx Josh and Apple for backing your product and researching the issue.

Hi edfed, it cannot be because you're using a "third party" product because i plugged mine into my iMac keyboard and had the same problem. I took the whole keyboard to the Apple Store and they replaced both the cable the keyboard while i was there.

To everyone else, just take your cables back to the Apple Store and tell them they get stuck and are very hard to remove, if you've had to use something like pliers to get them out then these marks will show on the plastic of the USB connector. Im sure they'll replace them.

Yep same thing here. USB is stuck in side of monitor. Seems Apple was not ready to send this thing out to market -- Bet they will not pay for damages to my monitor. It looks like the grab teeth in the USB are a lot deeper than the old (normal) USB connectors. Bad design or bad quality control.
