iPhone 5 USB stuck

I received my new IPhone 5 and pluged the USB cable into my laptop to sync with iTunes and the USB was stuck solid. I couldn't get it out no matter how I tryed. I ended up leaving it there or I would have had no way to charge the phone if I broke it. I pulled so hard that the casing came off.

I took the laptop into Apple and they pulled it out with pliers and gave me a new cable. When I got home I had a look at the old iPhone 4 USB up against the new iPhone 5 USB and you can see the difference inside. It looks like they have made it a tighter fit.

How many USB ports are going to broken with excessive pulling... And having to use pliers to get these USB's out. Big thumbs down to Apple for doing this. I hope they bring out new leads soon because I will not be game to sync my phone again for a very long time.

I just got my iphone 5S... and voila .... I plugged the charger into my Acerlap top using the USB port ... and it got stuck. I went to the local Apple store here in Jackson, WY and the guy told me that he could not help me because my computer was not an Apple product, but if he were in my shoes , he would yank it out with a pair of pliers. THANKS A LOT... FOR NOTHING.

Here's what worked for me though: I slipped a small piece of card stock paper underneath the USB port and it then easily released.

Did you perhaps plug your USB cable into an eSATA port on your PC (like I did)? If so, then the way to remove easily is to gently lift upwards the outside edge of the connector (where the cable enters)... then pull it out of the port. Please disregard this suggestion if you plugged your cable into a normal USB port.

So glad I'm not the only one having this problem.. Plugged it into my car port and is stuck without budging! Will try the pliers! Hope it doesn't ruin the cord!

Same problem here. iPhone 5 cable stuck in the left-hand USB port of my extended keyboard. Genius Bar, here I come.

Thank you for the idea. I cut a small piece off a business card and wedged it right under the USB that was stuck. Viola.... came right out and works perfectly!!! Man I thought I would never get it out but worked perfectly!!!!

It also occured to me that my usb cable was stuck in my keyboard plugger so what I did was to take a a plastic card and cut it in the shape of the usb and plugged it in together.Then with slow moves I tried to remove it with the card and it worked!I hope this was helpful to you!

My lightning cable got stuck in my car's usb. I followed the instructions of the video someone posted and it worked. I cut a pill package and put it under the plug. everything ok!!!
