Shared iCloud calendar notification problems

Hey all,

My partner and I have a number of shared iCloud calendars which we seem to be having problems with since we upgraded to iOS6 and iCloud.com's upgrade (I'm not sure if there's been an upgrade but things seem different).

At the moment whenever my partner or I add/delete/change and event in our shared calendars the other person is recieving email notifications of these changes. Orginally when you shared a calendar with someone you could choose whether or not you would be notified when they made any changes to it- this toggle seems to have disappeared and we seem to be stuck with the settings we had set with no way of changing them.

Does anyone have any ideas on a work around to this?

In the preferences pane of iCloud->Calendars we've both turned off all the alert and notification settings yet are still recieving emails. Not only that, but we are also getting notifications via the Calendar App on our iPhones despite in Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars having 'New Invitation Alerts' and 'Shared Calendar Alerts' both turned off.

It seems no matter what we turn off (iCloud.com & on the iPhone) we still recieive these emails regarding changes, deletions, and new events.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,

Duane

Ok, spoke to the Senior Apple Consultant after he's spoken to the engineers, not too much good news.

In regards to the email and iOS notifications for shared calendars the engineers are aware of the problems and are working on icloud.com and iOS6 to resolve them. At the moment there is no real fix. For the email notifications I've set up a filter in my gmail to filter all noreply@icloud.com emails to a separate folder so they don't crowd my inbox.

For shared reminder lists they're also aware of the iniability to now share/unshare/turn on/off email notifications and it will be fixed in the next iOS6 update.

Sorry there's not too much good news, other than they're working on it.

The engineers are hoping to reset my Calendar preferences and have a bit of a play. Will let you know how that goes too.

Hello all.

About email notifications... does anyone know how to receive these email notification on the @me.com email address and not on the apple ID primary email address?

I've tried to change my apple ID from my hotmail.com email to my me.com email, but it doesn't let me...

I don't want to use my hotmail anymore; I want to have just one email address... my me.com address.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Just wanted to update this thread for anyone else having my same issue of receiving an email notification as well as a calendar notification on a shared calendar, despite email alerting being turned off at icloud.com. I'm happy to report that my email notifications have stopped and I'm now just receiving the native Calendar notifications when items are added, removed, or edited.

I also noticed my @icloud.com email alias is now usable - coincidental that this fix came around the same time; perhaps this has something to do with it (for us old MobileMe customers anyway).

I agree with you and i would add that the switch doesn t work neither on all ios6 devices, neither on icloud.com. I also recieve those notifications on icloyd.com webapp and the option that disables notifications upon new shared calendar events is also effectless. That s why i think about a global icloud problem rather than an ios 6 issue.

Maybe flaw is on the server side not on the device side. And i hope it could be fixed even before the 6.1 update.
