I set up my Yahoo account on my new iPhone5 Sat morning, and all was good. Then last night, I couldn't get it to connect. It keeps asking for my password and wont verify when I try to reconfigure it. Yahoo still connects fine on my iPad and I can access via Safari on my iPhone 5. Any one else having this issue?

I have the exact same problem, I have four yahoo emails and only one of the four is working. Apple is worthless for tech support they blame yahoo and there seems to be no way to talk to someone at yahoo as the chat client is always busy and lord knows how long they will take to respond to my emails.
YES, I've restarted
YES, i've deleted and resetup
YES, I've checked that the emails are working from other browsers and devices
YES, I've checked in my yahoo profiles to make sure the iphone app was listed
I would really love to know why these emails worked under IOS6 on my iphone 4 but not on the new 5.
I would also love to find out how many other people are totally ****** that they removed youtube/google maps from IOS6.
I was considering trying that method but was concerned that it would then function like pop account where it would not leave up messages on the main server so you could check from multiple devices instead of a message downloading to just one. What settings would I need to access to keep that from happening? I finally heard back from yahoo and they said they are aware of the problem and are coming up with a fix.
I had trouble initially. I would go to Yahoo Mail and the pages would be blank. I tried sending an email to myself from Yahoo to my Gmail account. It went through then suddenly Yahoo Mail became operational. Go figure. But, it worked.
Thank you for the elegant solution, bhatipuru. I wasted a lot of time responding to error messages and tweaking and comparing phones. In about a minute I had it up and running.
PS to other readers: If you also have problems connecting to known WIFI, delete it and start over. That worked for me.
Delete the account and re-input it.
did that. All it did was erase all my mail, but still doesn't work.
Delete the Yahoo account.
Create new account using other option
for incoming mail server
imap.mail.yahoo.com
email address & Password
for outgoing mail server
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
username and password
Yahoo's mail servers are terrible. The problem isn't your phone, it's Yahoo.
Did you send the mail from your computer on your Yahoo account?
Yes same problems.
I did the same thing deleted the account and set it up again. I tried the configurations suggested by others, but this still isn't working.
The message I get says, "Password Missing" and keeps prompting me to enter the password. I do, but never get the mail.
