flyover gestures anyone?

I can't seem to quite put my finger on (pun-intended) how to control flyover views in the new Maps. I often want to change my view of 3D buildings and "orbit" my view so it's at a different altitude- sometimes when I do a pan with a double finger I'm successful in orbiting my view, but it's never easily repeatable.

Are the multi-gesture controls for flyover listed on any help file yet? Anyone figure them out perfectly?

(I know Apple's getting a lot of flack for its first mapping program, but the quality of the 3D rendered word is MUCH better than Googles. I don't travel much so I really don't need it for finding my way around- but I do like to use Google maps and now Apple Maps as a way of virtually sight-seeing and visiting major cities. I'm fully expecting Apple to work the bugs out of the application and database in time and, hopefully, making it so virtually real that we'll be able to go just about anywhere and see 3D environments.)
