airplay is slow

I have the new iPad. Airplay is automatically offered in the new iPad.

I wanted to use the Airplay feature, so I purchased an AppleTV that connects to my Samsung HDTV (Smart TV) via HDMI cable

Only one time have I gotten the Airplay feature to work in a satisfactory manner (meaning I could see a game on the iPad appearing on the TV at the same time and working without lag). All other times I attempt to use the AppleTV and Airplay from the iPad, the delay from the iPad to the AppleTV is approximately 3 minutes. So 3 minutes later I see the image on the TV that was on my iPad

I had purchased a strong router for my network with the intent of supporting internet TV. I have a CISCO Linksys E2500 router.

Has anyone else experience this type of problem, where the AppleTV shows a slow response during Airplay? This is as if I was on a very slow connection.

Go into your wireless settings. 192.168.1.1. Enter your username and passsword. Go into the applications & gaming tab. The very right item is QoS. You're going to see the top feature which says WMM. Default is Enabled, but disable that. Wah-lah, instant fix.

I can confirm that this solution fixed my problem with Airplay being super slow.

The solution was to go into my router settings (I have a Netgear router and I entered the web-based settings).

Found the tab for QoS settings, then set WMM to "disabled" (or rather, uncheck the "enable" box).

Now Airplay works superfast from MBPr to Apple TV.

FIx choppy video playback apple tv from macbook air mid 2011

For Linksys router:

1) Open your web browser.

2) In the Address Box at the top of the browser window, type http://192.168.1.1 and then click on Go, or press the Enter key on the keyboard. A window should appear in the center of the screen asking for your User Name and Password.

3) Leave the User Name box blank. Type admin in the Password box, then click on OK, or press the Enter key on the keyboard.

4) The Linksys Wireless Router Setup page should appear.

5) Click Applications and Gaming Tab

6) Click QoS

7) Select disabled

8) save

Yes, I am having the same issue. Once I disable WMM the only device that works on my internet is my PC (thank god, otherwise I don't know how I would enable WMM again to make my two macs, apple tv and iPad to work again). Anyone know why this happens?

Sincerely,

-JJ
