iPhone 5 and OS X 10.5.8?

I have a bit of a problem with the iPhone 5 and Mac OS X 10.5.8. What happened was today, I bought my new iPhone from a Verizon store. I came home to find that iTunes needed an update to work with the iPhone 5. So I was about to update when I found out that iTunes 10.7 is not supported by my 10.5.8 MacBook Pro. I have a lot of music in iTunes I want on this phone. I can't upgrade to a higher version of OS X, because Snow Leopard discs are only sold be special order from Apple. I don't have the time to wait for a Snow Leopard disc, but I need to use this iPhone now. Any suggestions?

First of all, you have a major problem because OS X 10.5.8, which is about three years old now, cannot support the latest iTunes which will be needed to sync your new iPhone (which presumably has iOS 6).

Putting that aside, answering "How do I sync Address Book, iCal ...?" will depend on what types of accounts you use to house these. But regardless, as I say, you cannot sync anything using iTunes on an OS X 10.5.8 machine.

All of the advice regarding this problem revolves around upgrading to Lion. I have an iMac 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running 10.5.8. I have kept this computer in an older OS because I want to be able to run Adobe GoLive and Adobe Freehand. Both of these need Rosetta to run on this Mac. If I understand correctly, Rosetta does not run on the last few OS Xs.

Is this true?

Generally speaking, asking a new question in an old dated thread will not get a broad audience for your question. That being said:

Apple stopped including Rosetta with the release of Lion, OS X 10.7 and thereafter. In order to run older PPC software that can not be updated to Intel, you must run it in Snow Leopard Server in virtualization.

Installing Snow Leopard Server into Parallels for DUMMIES:

Freehand MX running in Snow Leopard Server in Parallels (be sure to use the Adobe updater for Freehand to run in Snow Leopard):
