iPad safari can't add bookmark after updating to IOS 6

Hi,

I updated my iPad 2 to iOS 6, but I discover no new bookmark appears in the bookmarks folders no matter how many time I add bookmarks in Safari. The old bookmarks are in the folders, but no new ones can add into it. Also I can't delete any of my reading lists. I try restarting and I try turning off iCloud but they didn't work. Can anyone help me? Please? Should I try to restore the iPad? I am so lost....

Thank you!

I'm having a similar problem following upgrade to iOS 6. None of my Internet favorites on my laptop get copied to my iPAD or iPhone; they were all deleted. Historically, I just plugged my iPad or iPhone into my Windows laptop; iTunes started up; and my contacts, favorites, etc. were synched. I've tried powering my iPad off/on; setting Safari to always show the Bookmarks Bar, etc, but nothing is allowing my Internet Explorer bookmarks to be synched now from my laptop to my iPad or iPhone. They've always worked for the past 2+ years, but the iOS 6 upgrade killed that feature. I can manually add a favorite when using Safari on my iPad; but no synching of Internet Explorer Favorites from my laptop to my Bookmarks Bar on my iPAD now. Any further ideas?

Have tried the total shut down, power off approach but no positive effect whatsoever. I have an empty Bookmarks Bar with none of my Internet Explorer Favorites copying.

Have turned off the "Sync Bookmarks with 'Internet Explorer' option; then turned it back on - nothing. Have used the "Replace Information on this iPAD" and checked Bookmarks - nothing. I can manually add a bookmark on iPad or iPhone, but none copy from my PC via USB or WiFi sync. The only thing I can connect this to is the iOS 6.0.1 update. Everything worked perfectly to that point in syncing whatever I wanted from my Windows laptop to my iPad or iPhone.

Hi all, I'm in the middle of trying to solve this problem too. iPhone 4 works fine with bookmarks and my iMac but iPad doesn't. However spoke to apple yesterday for 3 hours and did a backup and restore. So wiped iPad back to as new. And before we restored from backup, we checked safari and it worked fine. Then we did a restore took an hour and safari went back to having the same problem. It appears that something in the backup is corrupting safari, as it did work before the restore. So another call planned with apple on Saturday 9th Feb and will report back the result. The most likely outcome will probably be to wipe the iPad and then reinstall apps and docs, books, music etc from scratch. Will take a long time and probably will solve the issue. Will report back on Saturday

Update after my call with Apple, only solution to wipe iPad and install everything from scratch. Yep that's what I've done and my safari is now working fine. It's taken me a while to put everything back to where it needed to be. The longest time spent was in iBooks, where I had 455 PDFs stored in folders, so after reinstalling them I had to put them back into folders, apart from that everything else just synced from iCloud or iTunes and of course I had to select which apps I wanted. I had taken screenshots of all my apps, so I knew which ones to install. Then all the logging into apps that needed login details. It took a while but am pleased that I've got a fully working iPad now, plus it meant I could have a tidy up as well.

I had the same problem with my IPad. I could not add bookmarks even though I had done it many times before. I tried turning ICloud off and rebooting, clearing cookies and rebooting, and clearing settings and rebooting. None of these solutions worked. What did work for me was going into settings, tapping on Safari, and making sure the Show Favorites Bar is on. All of the bookmarks that I tried to add before appeared. It was that simple.
