I updated my iPad 2 to iOS 6, but I discover no new bookmark appears in the bookmarks folders no matter how many time I add bookmarks in Safari. The old bookmarks are in the folders, but no new ones can add into it. Also I can't delete any of my reading lists. I try restarting and I try turning off iCloud but they didn't work. Can anyone help me? Please? Should I try to restore the iPad? I am so lost....

Just figured this out myself today. At the top of the screen where the Add Bookmark icon used to be there is a new icon that looks like a screen with an arrow coming out of it. In that menu, (3rd row, 2nd icon) you will see a Bookmark icon and it will let you add a bookmark.
I am sorry, I am afraid I wasn't clear in my original post. I did make bookmarks (using the icon and such) but the bookmarks never appear in the bookmark folders. It is like I never make any new bookmarks.
Also Reading List is not functioning as well, I can't delete anything from my reading list.
Right now the only thing I can use the "Aad to Home Screen" icon, but this is not what I want to use in a long term.
Everything works fine after update, just the Safari is having trouble. Please help....

Since the io6 upgrade I have the same issue with Safari...
cannot add bookmarks to the bookmark menu...
also Reading list has simply vanished...
bookmark history is no longer on the bookmark menu...
If anyone comes up with a solution I am all ears!
I truly wish I had not done the upgrade and am now thinking
this is the last Apple product to enter this house!
Not sure what to say. I did the IOS 6 upgrade a couple of days ago and I just added 2 new bookmarks to my iPad today without any problems using the method I mentioned above. After I hit the Bookmark icon it pulls up a seperate window where I can rename the bookmark if I want and then save it. I should mention that I am using the latest iPad, if that makes any difference.
Can't say much about the Reading List as I don't really use it.
Say, my iPad is having the exact same symptoms are yours is. Have you found a solution yet?
Sau, my iPad is doing that too.My bookmarks are all gone as well. Also I cannot add anything to the bookmarks! HEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!
I'm having the same problem as well.
Please let us know if you find a solution. After the upgrade, all my bookmarks disappeared and any new ones I add don't show up in the bookmark list. Only Apple, Bing, Google and the IPad User Guide - all bookmarks added by Apple and not me - will show up... Very frustrating, as I tried to email customer support but they want to charge me $79.00.
Having the same problem, all of my bookmarks are gone & I can't add anything. I spent the last hour going nuts trying to find a way to restore with no luck! and I really need those bookmarks back.
This might be helpful to some... I just took note that all my bookmarks & reading list are on my iPhone which I had synced with my iPad, so once they fix this issue if you have your iPad & iPhone synced all is probably not lost!
The same issue on iPhone 4 after update to iOS6. Can't add new bookmark as well as can't remove reading list entry. Even more. After removing reading list entry on other device (iPad) it appears on it again .(
Try this.
I went into settings and opened the safari icon. There is an option "Always show bookmark bar". I set it to on. I closed safari and relaunched. I was able to access my bookmarks.
Worked for me. After setting "always show bookmarks" you must close down safari completely then shut down iPad and restart. All your old bookmarks you stored before upgrading to IOS 6 then reappear.
Found another solution but it's not a great one.

1. Went to settings - general - safari. There is no option for "always show bookmarks" on the iPhone
2. Next tried switching safari iCloud off and then on again, made no difference

I now have all ny bookmarks back and the ability to make new ones.
Whether this will survive the next iTunes synce remains to be seen. That was what seemed to cause it in the first place.
Now I just have to get all my settings back how I want them, and it's forgotten all my wifi passwords.
