iPhone 5 Siri too slow to respond

I have a Verizon iPhone 5 connected to a very fast LTE in the Tampa area, Siri have been taking way too long to even dial a phone number, its doing it on both wifi and LTE, is that normal? once it works its accurate though, any ideas?

Thanks

iPhone 5, iOS 6

i am on ATT. for me, siri works about 80% of the time, regardless if i am on wifi or not. i would say about half of the time it works, it takes a very long time (1 minute+) to receive a response. the other half is usually pretty quick (3-5 seconds). i want to say that off peak hours are better. the times it does not work are usually long pauses followed by the standard siri msg stating she does not know what i mean, etc.

calling a number by voice dialing is excruciating - i had an apple 4 previously without siri and it worked very well, i am debating disabling the siri feature, but will give it another week to see if it is just mass congestion of the new devices on the market.

I have been having the exact same issue with my 5. Siri will simply sit there and load and show what I have said. I usually give up after about ten seconds and try again. But it works probably 75% if the time. Restarting my phone typically helps. I believe this is a software issue that Apple will need to address. I spoke to someone with a 4s and they have had the same issue for months. I have Verizon LTE and I am located in Nashville, TN. I hope this is something that is fixed very soon as I am highly dependent on voice commands.

I used to use an iPhone 4S. Siri actually worked pretty well for my basic use of the technology and would return results at a decent speed. I have been using the new iPhone 5 for about a week now and Siri is extremely slow to respond and often responds with an error message.

Very frustrating and made a few of my friends question the iPhone when I tried to show them what it could do. They said "Nice Results"! I hope a fix comes soon.

Very nice! I only got Siri with the iOS 6 upgrade, but it slowed down very soon after I began using it. I, too, believe it to be at least in part due to the massive number of devices added with iOS 6.

Although I did not power-cycle my iPad, I did turn Siri off and back on again (which deletes any information which has been uploaded to Apple's servers to improve your responses btw) and it is now quite fast. Hope it stays that way for awhile at least.
