I too have head kernel panics at boot due to com.apple.driver.AppleEFINVRAM and com.apple.driver.AppleUSBHub since 10.8.2. I do not have littlesnitch installed, and no third part kexts except for Parallels which is at the latest version.

For the record, I attempted a few fixes mentioned above and on other posts. I thought the kernel panics had resolved, but alas they have returned.

Unfortunately, I just updated 10.8.2 on one of my laptops, and it is now experiencing kernel panics.

Nothing seems to be fixing the problem. Apple, I hope you are listening....

same thing going on here with my 09 MBP..no parrallels OR little snitch, not to mention very few 3rd party apps...started after installing 10.8.2 about 10 days later though.

That NVRM read error looks interesting, it is in both panic logs. Have a look at this utility http://www.macrumors.com/2012/07/10/gfxcardstatus-allows-easy-control-of-macbook -pro-graphics-cards/ you could use it to use the Intel video card and ignore the NVidia one. It could be a driver or hardware problem on the NVidia graphics card.

As you mention it, I think my MBP shuts down often, when I swipe between the desktops. I had no problems with ML 10.8.1 or lower (SL and L) problems appear sind the update to 10.8.2. Is there any possibility to install new gfx drivers?

I downloaded and installed the gfxcardstatus app. But so far I can't change to the Intel ('cause I use chrome).

But I'll keep an eye on that,

Okay...just mentioned something.

There is no problem using the discrete gfx nvidia gt 330m or the internal intel card.

BUT if the system is changing from internal to discrete system panics.

Using only discrete or intel works. but if I change between them, the systems crashes.

using the discrete (playing bioshock) makes no problems.

so it might be a driver problem?

anyone an idea?

It does appear to be driver releated, whether NVidia, Intel or even the OS X control software that switches video cards.

I have no further input that could help. I suggest you contact Apple, if that is not possible you could send them feedback on your problem, If it is software they may have more reports and that may give the fix a higher priority.

Well, I filed a bug report a while ago and apple asked me to create a dump file. However, I wasn't able to do so as it crashed so early that the system did not seem to find the network and thus the other mac that should record the dump data... by now, they have closed my bug as a duplicate, so I guess there are others that have filed this. Unfortunately, I cannot see any info on the other bug, so I'm out... let's pray for 10.8.3 to actually fix something...

In the meantime I also got a different problem, perhaps only made visible by activating the debug dump routine. When I press the power button on the running machine, it creates a kernel panic.

Since installing ML, my machine now has only about 3 hours of battery usage AND it crashes during start up and during shut down... 😟
