iPhone 5 time and date issues

So, I activated my vzw iPhone5 Saturday. Very much enjoying it. Woke up yesterday and was very confused because my phone thought it was 8/26/12 and 30 minutes later than the actual time. I reset network settings and it self resolved...until this morning. I woke up and looked at my phone and had a melt down because my alarm never went off. I hurriedly got ready and looked at the microwave as I ran out, and it was 30 minutes earlier than my iPhone said.

My iPhone apparently is doing something weird and reverting to 8/26/12 + 30 minutes while I (and it) sleep. It throws off iMessage and I'm sure the rest of the date/time dependent apps, so I've turned off the automatic time setting for now, and its fine now (so far lol). But I would like to know what the real issue is if possible!?! Is it my phone? VZW? Does it matter?

Having same problem here in South Carolina with my new IPhone 5. Will turn off LTE to see if it makes a difference. Hurry up Verison and fix this! I'm surprised this hasn't received more national attention.....seems like it's happening everywhere.

I am pretty sure I can confirm that turning off LTE fixes the problem. (I should say it prevents the problem, it's not a desirable solution but at least it allows uninterrupted use of your basic phone features) go to: settings>general>cellular>turn off LTE... I hope Apple and Verizon fix this soon. Without LTE I could have just kept my old iPhone!

I live in central Illinois and have had the problem almost everyday since getting my iPhone5. Once deactivating LTE I have had 3 days of no issues.

As I said its the time problem between the 3G and 4G towers.

Verizon Wireless is having problems setting times evenly between the towers and has been brought to their attention

I have the same issue in Western WA on my two Iphone5 from Verizon. I erased my phone and restored it back on. I can see their is a carrier update. Do you think that carrier update my be the issue? Anyone ran into that carrier update?

I have version 13.1 right now, haven't applied the update yet. It doesn't say what is the carrier version it wants to update to. It just asks to restart my iphone to apply a carrier update.

Can you find the KB article for the latest verizon Iphone carrier updates?

People of iPhone world. It's confirmed. It's a 3G to LTE issue. It's also happening on droid phones. That being said you can easily say its a Verizon issue but I really do not care. Just fix it. A restore I'd not going to help squat. Overall I really enjoy having Verizon but c mon. Who would have missed such an obvious error in testing. They theory is having some experience with this is I believe Verizon had a pretty big rollout of LTE right around the iphone5 launch but still this seems like an obvious test issue. Oh we'll. please whomever fix soon.

Go to Settings > General > About and go down until you see it say version : Verizon _.__ what is that number?

Sorry I just read it again I now understand you have 13.1. Sorry I am out of it today a little. Please apply the carrier update. It might fix it. It is a 3G and 4G connection/Network problem that Verizon has configured wrong and they are trying to fix it. Me followed by probably all of you guys and many others had brought it to Verizon's attention. I dot think the carrier update fixes it but I would update it anyway. I don't see a fix coming out for another week or two. Maybe more. Hoping earlier but they have to do what they have to do.

Ok I tried the update and still it says Verizon 13.1!!

I am wondering if that update was the reason!

The second iphone i haven't erased it still has the issue and says Verizon 13.1. I am tempted to erase it again and keep it without that carrier update.

I would then just wait until you get a notification saying the newest carrier update is ready for installation.
