iPhone 5 bad call voice quality

Got the new iPhone 5 and have bad phone call quality. The recipient of the call seems to be able to hear me ok, but their voice either isn't there or drops out or sounds grainy like when you have bad cell reception. Many times, the calls have just not connected. I know that that my cell reception and the recipients cell reception were excellent. This has occured when calling other cell phones, land lines, and toll free numbers. Anyone else having this issue? Have an appointment at Apple tomorrow morning to see what they think.

Don't you get it ?- Apple will not admit the problem! Its related to HD technology used in design of the iphone5, but carriers are not going to replace in near future outdated cellular technology to new standards!

I just (yesterday) got 3rd(!) iphone 5. Apple store manager try to tell me that nothing wrong with my phone! I show him this discussion forum, but they all denied any knowledge of problem we all know and have to deal with!

Apple will produce iphone6 and thats it - nobody will fix our units.

Hello everyone. I haven't read all 56 pages, but I encountered a similar problem with call reception inside my house, which is made of brick, plus I work out of a basement office. Just received the IPhone 5 two weeks ago and was very frustrated. Calls dropping, people who couldn't hear me, etc.

I was about to send it back, but I decided for some reason to try a call with the earphones that were included. Talked with my daughter, who has an Iphone 4s and we both have Verizon service. 25 minutes later, I was still talking with no interruption and she said I sounded great, as did she.

I then tried a friend who has Verizon and an android phone. We both immediately heard problems. So I tried him on his home phone and no problems.

The only thing I can deduce from this is that the earphones are somehow working as an antenna booster. I know it sounds unlikely, but for me, it works. If I have to wear earphones in the house to get almost perfect call quality, it's a small price to pay.

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Hello folks,

if you write - Iphone5 robot - on Google, you get stuff connected with english, german and swedish. I guess- a few more, due to language. The problem with robotic is in effect on incoming conversation and seems to be represented in many countries. My operator, Telia, have been working on the problem for over a month and they cannot find the cause. Apple prefers silence on this problem. I don't know if this is why Apple is sending back 8 M Iphone5:s to Foxconn, the manufacturer in China. But if you ask me to guess- the answer will be affirmative.

I have changed my Iphone5 twice within a couple of weeks but the problemstill persists.

When I get a call in this fashion, I ask the caller to recall and most of the time it works fine with this action. I have noticed my operator about this and still they cannot get any further with this.

It would be too early to state that it is an Apple failure at this time. A number of operators in the USA seem also to be aware of the problem and I can only hope they all communicate so that a whole army will try to resolve and also face Apple.

I would go to Germany and those guys seem to be frenetically working on any problem- such as many years ago 11 engineers i white coats tried for half a day on my 1961 Beetle that was not working on one cylinder...

So put some hope on my investigations and I will certainly blow the horn if anything with substance hits the surface. I might have access to their deep water labs far off the sunny side.

You may copy this and send to your operator- we will get there!

Stay cool, Carl Ring- Sweden
