Airprint is no longer working since upgrading to iOS 6

Is anyone else having issues with Airprint since upgrading to iOS 6? It worked fine before the upgrade on iPhone 4 and new iPad. My printer shows up when I try to print and sends to printer, but nothing prints. When I select the printer, it says "No Airprint Printers Found".

The first release of fingerprint apparetly does not support iOS6 based on an email response i received from them regarding another issue. Mine also stopped working after I upgraded two devices to iOS6.

i upgraded to Fingerprint 2 and everything is working again. I don't want to start a rant about buying software when an iOS version is released. I either buy the update and get back in service with minimal disruption or I look for another service that will work. I chose the update.

They are providing a coupon code "FP2" that takes the price down to a little more than $7 (US). The original validating/ordering email address must be used when the coupon code is entered. The coupon is good until the end of 2012.

Important note if you decide to update:

You must uninstall the first version and order / pay for the new version from the www.collobos.com site and NOT upgrade from the link within the software itself. You will not be able to apply the coupon from the update link within the software according to their email.

I also spoke with Collobos about fingerprint. I am shocked at their customer service and business practice. They are the worst company I have EVER had to deal with. I have been recommending their product for over a year... not anymore. I HIGHLY recommend looking anywhere else. What they are doing is illegal and their responses were highly offensive.

Apple doesn't let you downgrade your device, so now I'm stuck unable to print without paying an upgrade fee. I don't know what Apple changed, but it is a really bad move on Apple's part to change airprint and not keep compatibility with their own protocols. The whole situation is maddening to me.

Collobos offered me a refund, but since I hadn't upgraded all of my iDevices yet, I simply stated I would continue to use V1 and asked them to fix their broken software for iOS6 compatibility. So after some harsh exchanges of words, they forced a refund to me, without my consent and opposite of my request; therefore denying me the ability to (legally) use the software I paid for.

There is nothing in their EULA stating their software may not work with future iOS releases... or at least there isn't in the copy I have - they have PROBABLY added it by now. I don't know who to be more mad at, Apple for changing the Airprint protocol, or Collobos for there terrible support, cheating, lies, and disregard to their customer's requests.

If anyone has some suggestions to a windows based airprint server other than Collobos that works with iOS6, please let me know! So far I've found Netgear has "Netgenie" (only works with iOS5 right now)... Any others?

I have the same issues with fingerprint and same opinions on their business practices and refuse to pay to use software I already paid for due to IOS upgrades.

While searching the net though I found this:

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1293865

Which DOES work for me with windows 8 64bit and IOS 6.0.1 so this is a good windows alternative to crooked Collobos.

Not sure charging a few bucks for a software upgrade makes a company crooked. I used FingerPrint 1 for over a year until I decided to update to iOS6. I missed the notice that FingerPrint 1 wouldn't work with iOS6 and was a bit annoyed when it stopped working, but they gave a decent discount for the newest version and said they won't charge again for the next major release. If I get another year or more out of FingerPrint 2, then paying less than $20 over close to 3 years is a good deal in my book. People will buy a new iDevice for hundreds of dollars every 6 months, but if a small software company charges $8 for a major product upgrade, that company is crooked? Slightly annoying, yes, but not crooked. Someone above said they offered their money back even after using it for a few months (did I read that right?). Hardly crooked.

Well I am a small software developer and run my own company and I know that for myself I would have serious ethical impediments to charging for an upgrade to keep my own software running. Even accounting software packages that charge yearly for upgrades still provide updates after the fact for previous versions beyond a few months.

While maybe you work for collobos and so support their decision thats fine, I do not and would not given their practices.

But thats me, I would judge myself harshly if I did this to clients and so I judge them harshly for the same, regardless the point of my post wasn't to provide criticism just to acknowledge similar dissatisfaction and to provide remedy as I located tools to provide similar services to fingerprint but for free.

Additionally the fact that such a small piece of software provides very similar functionality and a small edit to it created IOS 6 support would indicate that the actual changes necessary to support IOS 6 airprint were in all likelyhood very small once again making the increase in price and lack of support for the users that purchased the initial fingerprint all the less savory.

The End.

Help! My iphone 5 had NO problem finding my WIFI printer. My iphone 6 plus? Nope! It says it can't find the airprinter! I tried to reboot the router...but...I have no problem printing from my laptop just like pre-this issue. Pretty certain the problem is with the phone. So....suggestions? And please, include step-to-step instructions. Just saying 'put in the IP address', etc really isn't enough for me. Thanks!
