My iphone 5 sounds are low etc... lock sounds, tones?

Whenever i slide to unlock or lock the sounds are low, I have my volume all the way up and the sounds are very low still.

Also my text message tones etc.. are low on sound a little. Does anybody have the same problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

there seems to be a sound effect volume setting. It becomes active when Siri is active. With Siri open or replying press the side volume up button and a volume screen will appear and the screen will not say ringer. By turning the volume all the way up that seems to solve the low volume issue for Siri and Text alerts. Worka on IOS 6 on iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s

I wanted to ask you about the overall volume on your iPhone 5... I've noticed that on my iPhone 5 I have to turn up the volume MORE TO GAIN VOLUME versus the iPhone 4S. I was more satisfied with the volume of the 4S half way than I am with the iPhone 5. Is there a oveall reduction of volume with the iPhone 5 for you?

I wish Apple would let us control/have preference of how high or how low we want the volume of the iPhone. I would want the sound to be close to ear piercing to really make yopu say to yourself, "**** this phone is loud!" LOL

Guys I found out the solution!!!! Just please promise that after you will go to my YouTube Chanel rschnei1997 and watch all videos and subscribe!!!

The solution is to first switch your eq to late night and after off. Go to home screen lock your iPhone. Unlock go to settings general restore and restore all settings. Don't worry this will not erase any media music or photos. Than after you restore the settings you will get blasting sound from your iPhone 5

EVERYBODY WHO HAS READ/SUBSCRIBED TO THIS POST, PAY ATTENTION!!!

rschnei... you're on to something with the Late Night EQ!!! The Late Night EQ IS THE PROBLEM for the low sounds with iPhone 5 & iOS 6. Instead of doing a hard reset try this:

1.) Go to Settings ---> Music ---> EQ

2.) Starting at the top of the EQ list with Acoustic and working your way down to the Late Night EQ, select Acoustic and immediately lock the iPhone. Select Bass Booster and immediately lock the iPhone. Keep doing this with each EQ setting going down the list WITHOUT skipping EQ's. Once you select the LATE NIGHT EQ and lock the iPhone, notice how LOUD the lock sound effect gets!!! There is a noticable difference to the ear!!!

I found that by selecting and leaving the EQ setting to 'Late Night' on the iPhone, ALL sounds seem to come in loud and clear. For some odd reason if you go back to the Music setting and select any other EQ ALL sounds seems to revert back to being on the low side. Again, you DON'T have to do a hard reset for this to work. Just select Late Night EQ and that's it!!! I really hope Apple fixes this bug...

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

YEESH!!! That's a lot of work just to turn up the volume. What worked for me (and it was previously posted), ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS THIS:

1. Open Siri by holding down the Home button for three seconds.

2. Turn up the volume to the desired level by toggling the volume buttons on the left side of the iDevice (who knows. This my not be limited to the iPhone, but also any iPod touch and/or iPad running iOS 6 with siri capabilities).

That's it! Then you're done, and you don't have to reset your phone (and you don't have to do an exhausting lather, rinse, repeat cycle).

arinfailing noooo. You've misread the TITLE & my post.

It doesn't make sense create a LONG REPLY just to inform the community on a how-to with preforming a BASIC function of a iPhone. Everyone knows how to simply turn up the volume of their iPhones. It's obviously more to the story...

The system sounds all around in iOS 6 has been on the low side whether or not the iPhone's volume is low or high. It's like theres a 20%-30% reduction in overall volume in iOS 6. It's almost like before in iOS 5 you really didn't have to turn up the volume to max to hear your alerts... you could leave it almost around half way to hear ringtones/alerts/music.

If you really read my previous post you'll REALLY see what I mean.

Well there is a ringer/ alert volume (press side volume controls and it says ringer) however there appears to be a sound effects volume that come up when Siri is active (press side volume and does not say ringer) and it does have a different volume control. Somehow that control also effect the alert for text message. Try it and let me know what your iPhone say? It fixed my volume problems by having both volume turned up all the way.

Yes, horse5971, you understand what I said. Im not saying that You can simply turn up the volume. and youve noticed what i had noticed... by bringing up Siri, you get access to a different set of volume controls. whether those controls relate to the music app or not may be the problem, but either way, they seem to be directly tied to the system sound effects, at this point in iOS 6. I'm not sure brandonfromcordova understood what I was saying.

My iphone 5 sounds are low etc... lock sounds, tones?
