5.1 Screws Up Podcasts!

So, after the 5.1 update I'm experiencing a few issues with video podcasts:

1. When I go to Favorites many do not display the badges showing how many new episodes there are. Sometimes if I select a show & go back the badge will appear but not always. So I have to go into each one to see if new episodes are available.

2. Podcasts don't remember playback position any more. So if I stop it and go back later it starts over from the beginning. This did not happen before.

3. Partially playing a podcast now completely removes the "new episode" blue dot instead of changing it to the half blue dot.

Thanks for sharing the bad news that the podcast bugs haven't been fixed with the 5.2 update. I'm also frustrated that such basic podcast functionality has been broken in the last three firmware versions and for over 4 months. It's baffling that these bugs aren't caught in testing--it's basic functionality, not an edge case that users are unlikely to encounter. I'll be sticking with the 5.0.2 firmware until Apple gets its act together and fixes these problems.

I think it's been resuming for me since the last update. What's not working is the podcasts don't always show a badge to indicate new episodes. I have to go into each podcast and check for new content.

Also, I swear that a couple of updates ago, I was able to just hit the play button on the remote from the list of podcasts episodes to start playing. This works on YouTube and Netflix but now it doesn't work in Podcasts. I have to click into the podcast feed, select an eposide and hit enter and then hit the onscreen Play button to start it.

Thanks rgersmrk and Michael for sharing the good news that the podcast resume functionality has been fixed. I installed the 5.2.1 firmware on my Apple TV 3 and it's working for me also. For podcasts, firmware version 5.2.1 is still a step backwards from 5.0.2, because a half filled unplayed indicator is no longer displayed for partially played episodes, and the badges for new episodes doesn't display until drilling down into the podcast. For me, the resume functionality was the only showstopper though, so I'll stick with the new firmware.
