Can't delete purchased film from Apple TV Wish List

I have the latest Apple TV 3rd gen with version 5.1 software installed today (a clean factory reset install).

A couple of days ago I added a movie to my Wish List on Apple TV - it was the only movie in the list.

Today I also installed the latest version of software on the Apple TV. Also, from iTunes on my PC, I decided to buy the movie (through iTunes Store) that I'd put on the Apple TV Wish List, and left iTunes to finish downloading.

Later I was using my Apple TV, and as expected the movie showed up under purchased films. I went to check my Wish List and the film was still there. But now if I click on the film in the Wish List view its details, I don't seem to have the option to remove it from the Wish List now that I've bought it. This option seems to have been replaced with an option to Play the film. (I'm fine with how to remove a film that I *haven't* yet bought from the list, that all works ok and I know how to do that..!)

Anyone know how I can remove the film from the list?

I know it doesn't matter much as it all still works, but I don't really want stuff I've purchased showing up there !

I have this problem too but wanted to add a little more info. If you purchase the film ON the Apple TV it gets removed from your wish list automatically. This only happens if you purchase on another device, or if you purchased the film prior to the latest upgrade.

I used to purchase films but leave them in my wish list, that way I could view everything I purchased along with other things I may want to watch all in one place. Can't do that any more 😟

I actual figured out what was causing it.

I had my upstairs apple TV loged in and my downstairs apple TV loged in.

When I bought something downstairs it would disappear from the wishlist for a moment until the server asked all the devices logged in was there anything too add to my wishlist .. at which point the upstiars machine would send it all the items already purchased to add to the list.

Once I logged the upstairs machine out I was able to use the method described in an earleir post where I log in on a PC and hide the items I've purchased in itunes then go to the appletv and remove them from my wishlist.

However they all reappear as soon as I log the upstairs machine back on.

Am I suppesed to download them all and use home sharing to get them to all the appleTVs in the house?

John's Answer worked for me as well...

while applying his fix I found another reason this would happen...

if the movies you purchased from the apple TV were bought as part of a collection, something isn't triggered in the purchase process on Apple's side to know to remove those items from the wish list.

I had the most recent 007 movie in my queue, bought the whole collection for the one price and forever had the latest 007 sitting in my wish list until I just attempted to fix it.

Another collection I had was the despicable me 2 movie, which I ended up buying the collection... it too needed John's fix.

Thanks,

Will

I think this latest version update to the Apple TV 3rd generation may have done the trick.

Version 6.1 released early March 2014.

All of the sudden I can remove my purchased movies from my wish list.

I installed the update a couple of days ago.

Not sure if this will last, or if this is a glitch of some sort.

It used to be that when I clicked on a movie on my wish list, if I owned it, there would be a play button, but not a remove option. Today I noticed the remove was available on 5-6 movies I had purchased.

I deleted a bunch of my purchased movies from my wishlist when I noticed I could remove them, but I don't know if a play button was still there. I will have to leave a movie on my playlist and check the next time if there is a play button and a remove button.
