Bluetooth Headset doesn't connect to iPhone 5

I have a Plantronics Voyager 520 that worked great with my iPhone 4. I upgraded to the 5 and now it doesn't even recognize my headset. I reset the headset and it still is not viewable on my phone. Anyone have similar problems or maybe a solution?

Anyone on this thread have any updates? I am also having problems with using my Plantronics voyager 520 with my Iphone 5. It actually finds the device but then voyager stops blinking and the phone loses it's connection. I have tried this several times. I am going to try this on a few other iPhone 5's tonight and then post my results this weekend. I have read through several post and found some post that are saying they are having problems with some of iphone 5's and some are working just fine. I was curouis if anyone is using a case when they are trying this?

I was able to get my voyager 520 paired after lots of frustration. Try turning off BT on your iPhone. Turn on your headset and continue to hold the on/off button for 5 seconds while simultaneously turning on BT on your iPhone. Read similar recommendation on another post and it worked 1st try for me. Good luck!

Now that I'm paired Siri wants to take over when I try to make a voice dialed call, but doesn't actually make the call...

Just got an iPhone 5 after using my 520 with an iPhone 4 with no issue.

The pairing was easy, what IS the problem I'm having is the intermittent LOUD static my callers seem to be hearing (didn't happen with the iPhone 4). Despite replacing the phone, the issue has continued.

Have been through this with both Apple and AT&T and they have both surmised it to be an issue with my 520. Accordingly the static also stops when I disconnect my 520 during a call and the issue doesn't happen with other BT headsets I've tried.

Anyone else having such as issue with the iPhone 5?

SOLVED!! I had the exact same experiences as was mentioned in this post. Did the same things of toggling, etc.

Was actually in the middle of contacting Plantronics when I got the idea of doing a Hard-Reboot of the iphone 5. Press and hold the Power and Home button for 5 seconds or so until the phone instantly turns off. After waiting a minute I powered the iPhone5 back on, went to Bluetooth discovery, powered on my Voyager520 and chose the option to pair it - was prompted for the pairing code and Voila! It worked.

I did find that after about 30 seconds, it lost bluetooth connectivity but I merely tapped the Voyager once to re-establish the bluetooth connection and all was fine.

Re: Siri - Yes, it's anoying that Siri wants to take over. I found that if you wait a little longer - it evntually dials the number.

Re: Static I did some tests and the sound the caller receives is a high-pitched wine sound. Obviously there is some interference coming in as you cannot hear it on the Voyager BT. I haven't tried this yet but I wonder if there is interference from the LTE antenna or wifi & LTE together during a BT call.

Thank you so much for posting that information. I purchased a 520 at a charity auction not realizing that the 520 model was a bit outdated. I tried for hours to get my Iphone4S to connect without success....then I read your post and tried it out...it worked like a charm. I will be more careful next time I purchase an electronic device at an auction. Thank you again.
