Iphone 5 signal loss

Anyone else having a problem where when you lose signal for a lengthy period time such as on the train the phone doesnt find signal again when you are clearly in a area that would have signal. Only way around this for it to stop saying "No service" is to reboot the phone.

It reboots and has signal again

Anyone else getting this problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

I'm having the same problem too! I went to the mall earlier where there is at least four or five bars of 4G (there's currently no LTE in my area), but my phone kept changing from 4G to Edge and no signal. It would do this a repeatedly and I thought my phone was broken (it might be), so I restarted my phone and I got the 4G back, but had less signal than I would usually get with my 4S. What's wrong with it?

Yup also getting this problem with the signal and I'm an orange user from north wales. I found that if u make call the. It also reactivates ur signal, but if someone calls you they cannot get through. My partner had the same problem on her iPhone 4S until she update to IOS6, hers now works ok but has obviously taken more than 12 months to sort!! I think this will also be a long term issue :( I like the iPhones however the battery on his isn't different to the 4S my partners got and to be honest I'm convinved the phone operates slower!! I'm thinking of getting my money back whilst I'm still in the 14 day money back guarantee, possibly get the new lumina 930 or the galaxy S3. Not what I want to do of course but too many problems with this phone and no sign of any acknowledgement or solutions from apple

I was told by my network provider to change my network settings to manual and select them. This does work HOWEVER, the signal is not as strong as it should be and everytime it loses signal for a long period of time (where the problem was previously) a message window pops up notifying me that I've lost signal each time asking me to reselect a network or chose automatic (which reverts back to the original problem). To conclude, there's currently nothing we can do until apple takes their finger out there arses and sort it out!!

Here's something worth a try.

Last night I did this, Settings > Genral > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Enter pin (if you have one) the hit reset.

It will reboot and clear all radio settings including all your saved WiFi & provider settings.

Leaving everything else untouched. Mine got provider settings back after 10seconds 'searching'

Reconnected back to 3UK.

Did this and haven't had a problem all day, Fingers crossed.

My phone loses signal and drops calls all **** day! Then my Internet slows down and completely stops working WAY too often, no matter where I'm at. It's ******* me off SO MUCH. I can hardly USE THE **** THING. I was gonna go to AT&T and give them a piece of my mind, but they were lucky I lost it when they were closed. I'm going up there first thing in the morning and demanding a refund. This is BS!!! I'm posting from my iPhone 5 as we speak and already lost service TWICE while writing this! THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED... NOW!!!!!

People like above obviously haven't read this post properly as the problem your reporting is nothing like the problem all of us in this post are reporting. We are talking about actually reconnecting when signal has been lost in a known no signal area such as on a train or hospital, basement etc. we're not saying our phone randomly drops signal so please post these else where

I've had 24hours without a repeat of the issue.

Im working this weekend under railway arches,

So if it survives the weekend, I think I may have fixed it.

I have a theory, I think after we put our new nano sim in our new iPhone

All is working fine, then some of us sync with iTunes and pull all our old apps

And settings, etc etc onto our phones and something gets mixed up.

Resetting the network settings puts it back to how it was out the box.

Just a theory,

Iphone 5 signal loss
