iphone 5 not ringing

My iphone5c loudspeaker or external speaker is not working. The phone does not ring nor does any sound come out of it. I have done all of the stuff that was recommended in this post and other posts. If I pushed on the screen lower right, it would work for awhile and then not work. I brought it to the apple store and wouldn't you know it worked right before I walked in and then stopped the next day. While in the store the tech said they can replace a part inside(he also said this is an ongoing issue with these phones). I made another appointment for the end of this week. It's a $60 cost to try and fix it but they aren't guaranteeing it will fix the phone. I don't want to spend another $800 to purchase a new phone. I'm beginning to think apple is making junk.

Yes, I am getting the same symptoms and this is my first iphone (first impression is not good). I always had an android before. I did exactly what you mentioned above and I was able to get my ringtone back right after I played a music. Please Apple get this fixed !!!!
