Messages conference rooms scrolling

Is this a bug or am I missing some setting that allows Messages jabber conference rooms to scroll automatically to the newest message? Now it stays still even if the chat window is active. Please note: this issue affect conference rooms only. OSX version 10.8.2. I see few similar reports already but no conclusive solution. Disabling and enabling account doesn't work for me.

I can confirm the Beta version of Messages on Lion did not have this bug. It only started happening to me with Mountain Lion and it is extremely annoying.

I am seeing the same thing, but only recently. I made no client change recently, but did wipe out the config for server and restore it to default while trying to debug a connection issue. Perhaps something in the server config changed...
