Touch sensitivity on iphone 5
My new iphone 5 has very poor touch sensitivity, for eample, I have to touch the spacebar at least three times to get a space.
I can't believe this is normal behaviour for such an expensive phone

My friend and I have noticed this issue as well. I am also experiencing poor sensitivity while typing letters. Have you contacted Apple about this?
I have noticed that too. Especially with the buttons on the right edges. It's really frustrating.
Do you by chance have some kind of screen protector on it, sometimes they have an affect on screen response.
The phone is as naked as it was delivered to me
My friend and I don't have a screen protectors either
I noticed this too. But for me, it's more to do with pressing the keys on the edge of the screen for the onscreen keyboard.
For me, I just wasn't pressing in the right position. When I looked I had to press many times, but upon closer inspection, I realized my finger was a little off where the key is and that's why the button wasn't being pressed.
For me, it wasn't a problem with the iPhone at all, but an issue with how I was pushing the buttons.
I hope this helps.
Same here. Happens a lot in the App Store with the install button too. I know I'm pressing the button exactly. Just no response. Doesn't seem to be a lag issue, as I have hit the button and waited. So I jam on it like crazy and finally it acknowledges after 3 or 4 touches.
I've been hoping it's an issue with it not being "broken in" yet? I dunno, does that even make sense? Of should I remove the rose colored glasses.
Correction: the purchase button, in my case usually says "free" :-)
I have noticed this too, on my iPod Touch 5G. As someone mentioned, it's worse on the right side, but it does happen on other edges as well.
Is there a fix for this, or should I just take mine in? The problem is that it is somewhat random. I can't figure out how to reproduce it at will.
What have you done about this? I had the same issue, called support and they suggested doing a restore. (I just assumed this was standard practice when they have no other ideas about what to do)
I did exactly that -- (restore with new firmware via a USB cable and iTunes) and the issue seems to be resolved.
PLEASE give this a shot and let me know if it works for you as well!
My phone works fine now. Didn't do anything at all. New screen? Idk
Many people having same issue w/ the spacebar on iphone 5! I'm eagerly awaiting a fix. Let's go APPLE!
My new iPhone 5s has worse touchscreen sensitivity than my old, banged-up, Droid 2! I hope Apple is looking into this, because this is my first iPhone, and it may be my last!
