Mountain Lion rearrange icons when I move items into folders.

How do I stop this from happening?

This is a really getting on my nerves.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 3.6GHz Core2duo, 12GB ram

Nope...it worked for a while (3 minutes) and the same S*** again... do not bother to do the thing I mentioned above.... I cannot beleive this is happening to me.

Same issue for me on 2 machines (iMac & MacBook Air) both on 10.8.4. Driving me nuts !! 😠

Had similar issues and found a solution (the whole story is posted on a different thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3210568?start=105&tstart=0). In my case it was solved by changing user permissions for the affected directories, and their sub-directories.
