hi everyone, i have the same problem , my iphone 5 dont charge, it said not support this device, i try reset all setting and hard reset , still not working untill i do this :

YOU HAVE TO RESTORE YOUR PHONE BY ITUNE, UPGRADE AND RESTORE SO ITUNE WILL DOWNLOAD NEW FIRMWARE AND INSTALL IT.

DO NOT RESTORE YOUR IPHONE 5 FROM YOUR IPHONE 4S BACK UP , YOU HAVE TO SET UP NEW IPHONE AND RESTORE ALL INFO FROM ICLOUD.

GOOD LUCK.

Just got my iPhone set up today. When I plug it into the wall or my computer it just flashes between charging and not charing in rapid succession. It won't charge for more than a second and then it stops and then a second later is stays charge again. Because it makes a beep every time the charge comes up and vibrates it's almost like it's having a seizure.

Anyway, I had apple call me through the website. They told me to restore the phone but obviously it won't mount in iTunes because it can't create a solid connection. I had read this before but didn't want to terrorize the poor girl so I let her eventually blame the cable herself. She eventually set me up with a genius bar appointment for tommorrow but it's extremely inconventient because after that I still need to restore from a back up which takes forever.

I'm a fanboy so this doesn't change anything for me and sure sometimes even Apple gets it wrong but, it's a bitter pill after waiting so long for the phone to have the problem right out of the box.

Tomorrow, to the Apple store...

I am having the same problem. I have tried using the cord that came with the iphone as well as the adapter I bought from the Apple store and my phone still won't charge. I have tried doing a reset but I continue to get the battery with the lightening bold symbol regardless of whether my phone is plugged in or not. The reset won't work. If I was anywhere near an Apple store I would make a genius appointment. Unfortunately I live 9 hours from the nearest Apple store.

I have just had the same problem, I tried everything that people have said to do on here but nothing worked..

I then changed the adaptor/plug end and it worked instantly. Apple have probably given us faulty chargers holding we will buy replacements so they can increase their profits..

So replace the plug end, it should work. Most people have upgraded from other iPhones. So use your old plug end.

Good luck

I have the exact same issues plus a few more. Phone worked great for the first few months now it has this "not charging glitch." It died and now will not boot at all. I have three different OEM Apple cords (not cheap) that I purchased and not a one will work. I called Apple and they wanted me to try all kinds of restore and rest options to which none worked. So they will "express" mail me a replacement for $30 bucks but it may not arrive for up to three days. Once I get the new phone I have ten days to mail my old one back. Mind you they put a $700 hold on my credit card. I have a screen protector which cost $20 on my phone they will nto replace or pay for. So I am out about $50 and all my time spent calling Apple Care and talking to them. I am about to leave my job for another and move to a new town. So needless to say I need my phone. I am a first time Apple user and not pleased what so ever. Way to drop the ball Apple. I was about to buy a Mac laptop. Now I wish I got the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. I am done with Apple. I wish my two years new service agreement with Sprint was up already...

This is bad news for apple. Way too many faulty devices. Considering people are still paying inflated prices for what they expect to be high quality products, this is a little ridiculous and is making me seriously rethink the whole Apple decision. My phone also won't charge anymore. When I have it plugged in, it will only show me a plugged in icon, not the lightning bolt charging icon. Sometimes it will decide that it feels like charging. Others I just have to wait for it to come around. Fail.
