QuickTime appears in my Control Panel list. How do I remove it. I am on Windows XP.

I have no idea what Apple QuickTime is and do not know if it is appropriate to have it on my Gateway PC, Windows XP. I have QuickTime on my Windows Control Panel and would like to remove it.

"the following file does not exist or is not a valid uninstallation log file"

Gosh, that's an ancient message. (Used to see it a bit in 2005 through 2008, with really early versions of QuickTime 7 ... 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 in particular.)

Try updating to the most recent version of QuickTime (7.7.2) and then try uninstalling the 7.7.2. Does it go away properly now?

The add delete page does list Quick Time but when I try to uninstall, a window says "the following file does not exist or is not a valid uninstallation log file"

If QuickTime shows up in the add/remove control panel of XP. But it doesn't respond when you try to remove. That would indicate QT was not removed properly, based on XP OS. It was likely removed manually or parts of it was. So now doesn't respond with add/remove control panel.

You'd have to enter the registry, and pull it out from there.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

+Software

+Microsoft

+Windows

+CurrentVersion

+Uninstall
