i live in switzerland but need english support

This is still an issue. I have today been confronted on support chat with a useless German language "advisor" who couldn't understand the very simple question I was proposing. Why is there no option to choose support language? Wake up Apple there are English speakers living in other countries across the planet. (Chances that Apple will take any notice = 0)

Don't let one or two instances of „Ich spreche kein Englisch“, stop you from prodding these people to speak English.

I once spoke with a customer service representative at Deutsche Telekom, who tried to escape speaking English. I asked her in German, if she really could speak English, and she confided that she could, but just didn't want to make a mistake. With encouragement, she began to speak passable English, as I improved her confidence.

I see that there are two phone numbers for Switzerland. One for French, and the other for German. Germany just offers a number without specific language. Your point about alternative English designated numbers is valid.

Call AppleCare Switzerland and maybe they have a language line where a 3rd party can translate between you and the AppleCare Switzerland Associate. Ask in the native language "I need someone who speaks English".
