As your problem is completely unrelated to the subject of this post, you'd be far better off starting your own thread. Explain which version of iOS you're using and what troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

This has helped me on iPhone 5s. After replacing LCD assembly and buttons my battery life has reduced by 50% (I have replaced the battery about 6months before). Update to iOS 10 hasn't affected this. But this procedure seems has solved an issue with battery drain.

But is turning off a major feature of the phone really a fix???

I had the same problem....while turning off iCloud isn't a fix, it can lead you to the cuplrit of data use. Once you know what's broken, you can fix it by wiping your iCloud feature that is having the problem and reloading it.

tbkonwso, thanks for the help. I know this is only temporary but I have been reading the threads and avoiding a full restore to new on my iPhone 5 since I originally restored it from my 3GS. I read your post and have already seen a difference in my battery since I changed my iCloud settings. I am sure the next iOS update will fix this. Thanks again.

Have turned off all iCloud functions for now. Will see if this fixes my issues. If not, to the apple store I go.

It's driving me mad. Battery is awful :(

I can only relate my experience, but so far my iPhone 5 has shown the best battery life of all the previous phones. The only thing I've done is to let it drain down to about 15%, shut everything down and then restart the phone with the charger and let it charge overnight. This may be old wive's tale/voodoo but it doesn't hurt anything so I always do it with a new phone. My wifi is always on but I don't use bluetooth. Anyway with the same usage as my other iPhones including a little more since it is a new phone to me my battery life has been great.

I didn't get the phone on the first day it was released, it came a week later. In the meantime I was reading that very long thread about battery life and was concerned I might see a problem. So I was keeping an eye on this and have had no problems. There may be individual phones with such an issue but it doesn't seem to be significant, at least we haven't seen reports in the news the way we have about the Maps app!

there is something rogue drawing lots of juice.at this rate i have about 8 hours of standby time

I tried this too. Didn't work. Just did a hard reset, which I didn't do before. Maybe that will help.

There's an issues some of us are having dealing iCloud and bookmarks sync with a bookmarks process continuously crashing and cause battery drain and heavy data use. Check your diagnostic logs on the phone if you see a BUNCH of errors from something called "webbookmarksd" then this may be your problem.

Once I edited and "fixed" my supposedly corrupt bookmark file my battery life has been terrific now.
