Iphone 5 Battery Drain ****FIX****!!!!!

"Updated" my phone last night with the ios 6.1 version and still noticing the same battery drain. 😟

What I noticed is that having the % show on the status bar drains the battery faster.

I had this problem. It's Skype. I'm at 5 hours use 9 hours standby with 73%.

My iphone works great after I deleted Skype and did a hard reset.

Wow!!! this one is sneaky!!!! ... turns out that what I tought was the fix, only worked for a short while, the configuration of skype for some reason didn't last as a solution, now, I kept on fiddling around with the configuration of apps, and I changes the setting on facetime so that it won't be using 3G, and only work on WiFi, and this configuration has been working properly for an hour or so, I can't say that the problem is solved, since last time it was a fiasco, but it's worth the try, and remember to do a hard reset of the phone afterwards, since some of these configurations only kick in after this is done ... good luck!!!!

I heard someone mention that installing 6.1 resets a bunch of stats so it might look like it's working but only for a while

Do you have Skype installed? I didn't use it either, but after I deleted it and reset I have been getting 10 hours use consistently for about a month.

2 days straight with good battery lifetime, since I changed my setting on facetime to only use WiFi, seems like this did the trick, fingers crossed. I'm having a battery life pretty much like on my iPhone 4, don't forget to reset the phone after the change. Hope this helps.

Do you have a 4S? I use FaceTime over LTE all the time I get 10 hours of use and at least 15 hours standby. I have everything turned on except push email.

No, I have an iPhone 5, and I've only used Facetime a few times, but as soon as I changed the setting so that it will only work via Wifi, and not via 3G, my consumption came back to normal. I have no LTE signal here (Mexico), only 3G.

With 6.1 I am at 79% with 3 hours 3 minutes usage, 7 hours 47 minutes standby. I have an iPhone 5 on Verizon, location services on, wifi on, bluetooth on, ask to join networks off (under wifi). I did a hard reset after the update - hold both buttons down until the apple appears. So I do not believe there is a battery drain problem with 6.1.

First day on iOS 6.1. Usage 4.42 and stand by 17hr. 42 min.

Still have 35% battery left over. Good night.

Would you please say something on this issue. I just bought a new iPhone 5 and looks like this problem is pretty old. If your working on a fix great but let us know. All this crazy troubling shooting is insane. Remember you sell a premium product. Act Like It!!!!

I've tried everything in this thread...

I've tried turning off push emails, deleting my exchange account, disabling iCloud Safari sync, deleting my iCloud account entirely, reset all settings, factory reset, DFU restore and set up as a new phone...it's ridiculous. Meanwhile, my iPad has ZERO battery issues. My iPad has been idling at 99% (what I pulled it off the charger at) for over 11 hours with 15 minutes of usage. My iPhone was taken off the charger at 90% at 7:15 central this morning. It is now 9:45 central and currently down to 81% with just checking emails and no web browsing or calls. Really unacceptable.
