Iphone 5 Battery Drain FIX!!!!!

Got my iphone on launch day with ATT , been battling this battery drain for awhile! my phone from a full charge wouldnt last till 4pm with basic email reading, some facebook only.

as i was reading through the other thread with 190 replies!! i tried all the following

Restarting from New instead backup - didn't help

Turn off notification lte , all the other goodies the phone come with (come on whats the point?) - didnt help

someone mentioned that they saw a signal on their router blinking constantly while every other device was turned off.

i looked into my network log and what do you know... my iphone 5 constantly is trying to upload or sync to the icloud account NON STOP every 5 minute or so!!

THE FIX*

>General and turn off everything on your icloud account!!! i left my contacts on.

its been two days now and my battery is a day night diffierence!!

my current setting everything is on except bluetooth!

i hope this post will help some other to enjoy the iphone 5 at the best!

Hi All, I have had my iPhone for a few days know and the fix for me was shutting off location services when I did not need it as well as the device's wifi when you were not intending to use it. I now average about 9.5 to 10 hours of battery life with heavy usage (9-10 hours of the phone not in standby). When I turned on location services, my battery drained very quickly. And the battery lifespan was cut down to about 6.5-7 hours of direct usage (not on standby).

I have tried that and it did not help for me. I actually turned everything off in settings. And still no improvement.

I too everyone been experiencing battery drain problems, getting under 5 hrs of usage not good, on my second iphone same thing checked off every possible setting and restores..... Been crashing on me took it to apple store told me ive already changed it for same issue and made me the first time sign a statement stating i got a replacement for this issue and could only be replaced once whats up with that?? Definitely not happy especially after speaking to apple support and they say dont worry shouldnt be a problem take it in...not what i expected from Apple

It seems like more of a prevention than a cure.

I've true this. But not disabling passbook.

Ill try this again tommorrow

disabling passbook just something that i did because it's not functional in my country, but other than i believe the solution i described will help you.

also a little tip when restoring as a new iPhone, disable diagnostics. I think it will be helpful too.

Intried all the suggestions, initially it was fixed but now after a two weeks, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM GOING ON..

Battery is usage on MY iphone5 ,, from 100 to 45%:

Usage 2hrs

Stand by: 14hours

Where is the promise of 225 stand by hours APPL??

On the other HAND:

My Iphone 4 100- 70, two days back..

Usage 2hours

Stand by : 1 day 3 hours

WHY APPLY is ignoring the issue?? Can someone tell if Apple is working on a fix or Should we switch this lousy product.

I have all phones from iphone 3g, two iphone 4, iphone 4s (for my wife), two Ipad2s,just got an Ipad 4 & iphone5....

Still apple is paying our loyality like this!!!!

Hi...

Tomadd to the above, some guys suggested to stop some of the features of the device, like location, i cloud, push data...etc

The question is, WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING THE DEVICE THEN..??

I had all the iphones, and never bothered my self about those...always kept them on.. And yet very heavy use of web browsing, social media and calls,, yet all of them held the charge for atleast one day.

IPHONE 5 is not surviving till mid day with my normal use.. WHAT THE F***

Yep. Same here buddy. What I don't understand is how sons users say they have amazing battery life. No idea what they are using to make there iphone 5 last for do long.

I always close the apps running in the background.

Great life on 6.0.1 but sice updated to 6.0.2 phone switches off around the 2 hour usage mark.

I'm in the same boat. My phone was working fine till the 6.0.2 update. Very disappointed and hope this is resolved soon.

Same here, brand new iPhone , 2 weeks old. My iPhone5 battery drains very fast and I have to charge it everyday, I have been using my phone only for calls and emails , no apps, no games and wifi use is limited (mostly its OFF if I am not using it)

Appreciate the suggestion from many useres to switch off most of the features of the phone, the I would say whats the point of having iphone5, we could have got one of the chinies phone with 30days battery life..

With my old device, I was never bothered about the location services, or icloud stream, or push mail.. I used to have all those nice feature active, while 3g is active and im using my device for tones of calls ( as mortgage sales manager)...

Moreover i used to use the social networking alot... And still my iphone 4 use to stay alive till i reach home at 10pm or midnight..

Today i just had a vedio call with international client for one hour and battery from 80 - 19%...
