I love my new Apple TV3, but I'm having problems viewing Hulu Plus content.  Whenever I attempt to watch almost any Hulu Plus show, like the Pilot for "Go On", through my ATV3, it complains with "An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later."  There are a few shows that do play, but most give this error.


My Netflix subscription works fine through the ATV3, as well as the YouTube channel.  And of course, my Hulu Plus account works fine on other devices.


I have the most recent up software update, 5.2 (52010, and have restarted several times.


What could be causing my problem?

    I have exactly same problen too.

    After the update, Apple TV does not play any video in hulu plus.


    I tested playing in other streming services - works.

    Also tested hulu plus in other devices (i.e. ipad, web) - works.


    Apple should debug this issue asap.

    I'm having the same issue. Even tried a reset, no difference. Switching from ethernet to wifi seems to fix the issue.

    This is a problem with the 5.1 update. If you search, you will find that many users encountered the same problem. I had to connect my ATV3 to my Mac and downgrade back to 5.0.2 to get Hulu and Photostream back. I will wait to upgrade again until these issues have been fixed.

    You are correct, I switched from wired to wireless and my Hulu is now working again. Apple needs to fix this quickly, or at least post a sticky to quick fixes to problems like this since the update.

    I also simply removed the hard-wired cable, switching to Wi-Fi, and now Hulu works.


    The disapointments during all this are


    1) I called Apple and *they* didn't help at all.

    2) MacRumors is where I got the solution.

    3) Why isn't there an update with a solution?

    I too am having this problem, except that switching to Wi-Fi does not solve the problem. It starts the show, but it freezes constantly and I know this is not a problem connection because the router is right next to it.

    I was having the same problem but only with recently added programs. I found that if I pressed the Play button on the remote instead of The Select button it worked!

    That's crazy - how would a wired connection vs. wireless have that effect?

    I have the same issue ONLY with Hulu Plus and not Netflix or other streaming prodcts on the Apple TV v3.  This only happneded after the 5.1 upgrade and worked very well prior to the upgarde.  I only use Ethernet at the house for this do to the slowness of older WiFi routers.  I guess I will have to wait until Apple finds a solution and provides an update.  I may look online on how to downgrade the box as this service I pay for is now useless.  I would think the opposite would happen.  Ethernet provides a much more stable stream of data over Wireless.
