Music stops when accessing a website

Also! Instagram plays audio and it doesn’t stop Spotify or Apple Music from playing. Why do web ads do it??

Just tried it on my 4S, but I still have iOS5.1.1 on it. The music contines to play. I don't have a device here with iOS 6 on it, so I cannot be sure if that may have something to do with it. Try a reset, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. See if that helps.

FYI. I updated my 4S to iOS 6 last night and have tested this again and I cannot get it to duplicate the behavior that you describe. I go to Music, start a song, go to Safari, go to the NYTimes web site and have gone through 2 songs so far and the music doesn't stop.

Try going into Settings, Safari, and clear history and cookies. See if that changes the way your Safari behaves. You also don't mention if you tried the reset that I recommended. Let me know what you find out.

It happens with anything that has the ability to play audio, instead of getting possible audio conflicts the iOS just stops the music incase any audio comes in from the new source. If you could have multiple audio sources at once that would be a annoyance that most would not want to see.

You are correct. There is definitely something on the website causing this. Another example is tsn.ca. Which pauses pusic annoyingly every time. I still think this is a bug though... Safari should deal with this stuff better

I really like these pages that state problems. It seem that they are all over the internet. JUst one thing is missisng . . .the answers. You would think Apple would like to keep the customers happy by solving these problems. I know maybe somes one at Apple would read these pages and poslt a reply the SOLVES THE PROBLEM. Oh, that would be too easy, too much common sense.

Apple won't fix it until they want to. It willbe called ipad 4G or iphone 5s, etc, etc. No matter what you do. This "support community" exists via apple' site just so they can gather ideas for next marketing strategy. :)

I figured out this will happen if any of the pages that are open in safari on your phone are open to a page that contains media. Note this means any page regardless of whether it's the one you are viewing. So if you go to a site that has media, then open a new browser window and go to a page that doesn't have media and then open iTunes and play a song...when you switch back to safari, the music will stop. If you close the first browser window and try it again...the music will continue to play.

This is absurd. Five years and still the same problem. I have tried everything suggested in this thread and nothing helps even slightly. There is simply no way Apple is unaware of this problem, but so few people are talking about it that I’m becoming suspicious it is some MKUltra type program. The issue has followed me across 3 iPhones and now manifests on my iPad Mini 4. It affects ALL music apps and occurs whether using any brand of headphones or no headphones, and is triggered from ANY web browser. I have reset my settings. I have paid for a useless adblock. I give up. It even happened recently on drudgereport. DRUDGEREPORT!!!! The only thing close to media on drudgereport is Google Ads, which doesn’t play any sound. Apple, you set it up so Music stops playing when ANY other media starts playing. This was YOUR decision. So, it is up to you to see that it doesn’t ruin my listening experience. I thought Music was the heart and soul of Apple or something? Sure seems like you don’t care.

Update 1: As soon as I was finished with my last post, I went back to Safari and the problem returned! It occurred on both nytimes.com and another news site. Google ads were loading again! I opened the AdBlock app, which I left running in the background, and the VPN was off, even though my status bar said “[VPN]”! Therefore it seems you have to check both the status bar AND the AdBlock app itself with each web surfing session. ***************

If you hold the home key &amp; ask Siri to play now playing while in Safari, you can then open Safari and the music will continue to play. This is the only way I've found to bypass it.

Now I have this problem when updated to iOS 8.4. I didnot have this problem before.
