LaCie Slim Drive Ext Blu Ray USB3.0 Writer

Hi

I am looking for blu ray ext writer for Mac. I found the LaCie Slim Drive Ext Blu Ray Writer USB3.0 but the specifications on the box only mentioned Windows and nothing on Mac. The older version USB2.0 works with the Mac. I was wondering if anyone has tried this purely on Mac (Mountain lion) or anyone knows USB3.0 Blu Ray writer that works on Macs. Thanks.

I bought the Lacie USB 3.0 Slim Blu Ray. I put a DVD or CD in the drive spins up, then down. I might get it to run for a minute. After over a week exchanging ticket messages they now think the drive is bad.

They want me to pay for shipping to replace a brand new defective product.

Thats not going to happen.

We were looking at Lacie Thunderbolt arrays as Cal Digit doesn't seem to be able to ship. With poor support like we have gotten, we are stcking with Promise and I'll have a look at Pawtec Blu ray drive.

I've had the same problem. LaCie was not really helpful. They suggested it was a power supply issue, which they do not supply with the product. And when using both USB connections to ensure sufficient power the problem persist. This is not a product I would recommend. Even when you are lucky enough to have the disk recognize many operations fail even a basic read.
