my iCloud email won't sent from OS X Mail

Hey all,

I'm using the latest version of Mountain Lion. I recently tried to see if I could switch from using my MobileMe email address in OS X Mail to using my iCloud email address. iCloud seems to work on my iPad and iPhone... but everytime I try from Mail, the messages won't send. I click send and they just come back to me after a while, asking me to pick a different outbound server. Interestingly, the messages WILL send when I try to send via my MobileMe account.

Should I be using some sort of different server setting for the iCloud email?

OK, wanted to be sure, and the @me works while @icloud does not? I understand.

All I can think of is that the @icloud has only been deployed for a very short time and may not be fully functional for all users yet.

That actually worked, just fine. So, its probably something like you say. I'll wait a week or two.

Ditto.... except:

Outgoing mail server is just iCloud

Incoming mail server is: p04-imap.mail.me.com (mine is p04)

If I try to enter specifics under edit server list, it does not work.

I was able to send an email via iCLoud in Safari...... I sent to my self and it left the world without error, but it never arrived.Drop down and clicking edit show the following.

So while I have an email: cgwaldman@icloud.com I can not use it it appears.

Now on the iCloud webpage I see the iCloud email listed.

I don't know but if your .mac or .me address works then your setup is correct, about 180 million new accounts are coming on line, I would be surprised if it all happened at once.

1 addition, you will not need to change server settings.
