iPhone 5 group messaging is not working!!

I bought my iPhone 5 two weeks ago and I have been having issues with my group messaging the past 4 days. I can send out group messages but I am not receiving any replies. About 5-6 hours later, I will receive 300+ messages and it'll start working again. But it stops working again after a few hours. However, group messages through iMessage is working fine. I called AT&T when it first happened (4 days ago) and they transferred me to Apple. Apple had me reset all of my settings and it started working then it stopped after a few hours. My friend is also having the same issue with her iPhone 5 and they gave her a new phone but she is still having the same issue on the new phone. I hope it is not a defect on the phone because I only have a few more days left if I want to return the phone. Is anyone else having this issue??????? Help!!!!

I toggled Group Messaging on and off, power cycled, and still didn't fix. What fixed it was 'benjaminfromalbuquerque's' non intuitive recommendation of turning off Group Messaging. iPhone 5S, iOS 7, AT&T. Thank you Benjamin!

I am also having a similar problem. I have iphone 5s, iOS 7.

I can send a group text but I receive none of the responses, regardless of what phones people have. They don't come late- I just never receive them.

If I turn off group messages, I receive group texts to my imessaging on the ipad, but not on the phone. If I have group messaging on, then I don't receive group texts in either location.

I tried turning off and on again but not help there.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I also turned off group messaging and this fixed it! You have got to be kidding me....sloppy, sloppy, sloppy design.

I have the IPhone 5 and all of a sudden, I'm not receiving any group texts either. WTH? I called TMobile's IPhone dept and they were not helpful at all . . will try shutting off group messaging and see if that works . . . .

I also have started having problems receiving responses from group texts. I called Tmobile and they told me that it is an issue when sending texts to carriers other than Tmobile, and that it is an Apple issue and that they are workin on it. Well I'm getting sick of not being able to receive group texts and I plan on calling Apple tomorrow to complain. Tmobile told me that they became aware of the problem on May 22, 2014 and that the Apple engineers are working on a solution.

Amazing I just wanted to send out separate texts like the old phones did and this worked. It's not group messaging per se but it fits my needs thanks again.

How crazy is that?!?! turning off group messaging will at least let me send out a group message.

This does not allow me to receive group messages, but for sending out group work text it helps. They show up as individual messages on the other end.
